Clean, well spaced sites in a forest along a meandering creek with good host. 52 sites that all have an asphalt pad in good condition, a lantern post, fire ring, and picnic table. Sites are mixed primitive, electric only and electric/water. We stayed in a primitive site which was $12 per night, it was $18 per night to stay in electric site. Bathrooms have a shower and are older but clean and heated. We stayed here because it was near some Crooked Trail music venues (Blue Ridge fiddle music) and would happily stay here again. Not too far from town of Wytheville with a small downtown and outskirts that has a Walmart and all of the other businesses that follow.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds and we will drive an hour or more extra at the end of a day to get here in preference to other sites that might be more convenient. We have stayed here 3 separate times on our way north or south to/from Ohio and a fourth time we made a point to stay here a few days rather than just overnight. I don't think there is a single site that is not delightful. Heavily wooded private lots, many of which are very spacious. We have stayed in the pull through (007) which we normally avoid in preference for back in sites but this one is great with a very private view of the creek and forest. We have also stayed in site 47. This is a beautiful private site right next to the creek which you can walk to and paddle in. Beware however that this is a difficult site to get into if you have a long trailer since you have to start your reversing with TV on the bridge and it is more than 90 deg turn to get in. The site next to it (45) is also very nice but has a big slope down from the road so you may have issues getting your rig level. We did and had to move to another site. The host was great and made sure we got fixed up with a huge site (11) which is an ADA site. The Campsite was mostly empty on this visit in April (the first day after opening) so he was OK with us using this one. There is no firewood on site but you can collect any fallen wood so bring a saw/hatchet and a good source of kindling and you should be good to go. Cell signal for Verizon is pretty good.

Our site #44 was great, though many of the sites at Stony Fork are un-level. Steer clear of site #45 unless you're in a tent. Campsites are relatively private and have a lot of space and trees between them.

The campground has a nice long loop for walking, however, during our stay it was election season and it was off-putting that many campers displayed political signs at their campsites.

I was able to work from the trailer the entire week. Verizon download speed was fast, though I don't have the stats saved.

This is a very nice campground for hiking in the shade and for relaxing. The picnic tables and fire ring is located at the end of the pad not beside which creates a small logistical problem when setting up a dog fence. Our site #44 was nice but next time we will request #38 for its extra wide pad. We only did a one night stop over, but we look forward to returning for the hiking trails.

Positives: Friendly helpful hosts, well kept & clean, ample space and trees between sites for more privacy, most sites have easy access, beautiful clear stream runs throughout the park, nice nature trail, each site has a picnic table and fire ring, combination of dry camping, electric only and electric and water sites - some reserve-able and some walk-in, quiet park, hot water showers and flush toilets in all bathrooms, nice easy access dump station and fresh water for RV tanks directly across the road from the park entrance.

Negatives: Bathrooms were reasonably clean but need an update/freshening up and a bit of maintenance (one bathroom didn't have hot water for the shower and in another one of the women's toilets was out of order,) some sites slope towards the road and leveling is a challenge, site 45 has a deep downward slope that isn't RV friendly.

Overall a great campground in a great location with many more positives than negatives.

Used our Senior Pass for 50% off the camping fee (no discounts for electric or water hookups)

We had a Bambi kind of experience at this park as the birds all came in to check us out and were friendly while we were there. Nice paved sites with great water and electric. Outstanding coverage with our Mobley AT&T hotspot getting terrific speeds. You should be able to just drive up and get a spot with no reservation needed, as they have most spots for drive up only.

A great place to take an overnight break while traveling the mountain highways. The only issue is the showers being very old school 30 years ago design. They are perfectly warm showers, but no temperature control, and no flow control (you push a button). Plus there is no shower curtain, when one is needed (which you could get some from dollar store and put up with a spring loaded rod.). Heard whippoorwill calling at dusk and dawn, which is always wonderful to experience. - Cell tower data (AT&T) was perfect for watching netflix.

Secluded, 52 site campground, 4 1/2 miles off the interstate. Beautiful wooded sites, choice of no hookups, electric only or water and electric, fees vary. Some sites are reservable. Our site was large enough for our 19’ trailer plus a grassy area for tents.

Well kept campground. Showers are ok but you literally have to firmly push a button the entire time for water to flow. A limitation unless you are strong fingered and nimble. Campsites nice and well spread out. Conveniently close to interstate exit.

Stony Fork was a lovely campground nestled in Jefferson National Forest. The camp hosts were friendly and informative. We (and our dogs) enjoyed the creek running through the campground.
There are 52 sites and all but one are back in with a mix of no hook up, electric only hook up, as well as a few water and electric. There is a also dump station.

This is a great place to stay if traveling on I77. I could have stayed longer than 1 night and enjoyed myself. There's a beautiful creek that runs through the property, making this a serene and peaceful spot.
