Located about eight miles south of Mammoth Hot Springs on the road to Norris, Indian Creek Campground—elevation 7,300 feet (2225 m)—sits near the base of the Gallatin Mountains and offers breathtaking views of Electric Peak. The area offers easy access to fishing and hiking. The campground is away from the main road and provides a quieter, more primitive, experience than many other locations. This is a reservable campground run by the National Park Service.

Yellow Stone Park fills up early every day for camp sites the big main ones are full by 9 am the other ones in the park like Indian Creek fill up by 12 pm if its a slow day 3 pm. I should not say this but Indian Creek is the best place because its out of the way and not so beat up from the volume of camper that go through it. No shower her but they have pit toilets with drinking water available. The camp hosts are vary friendly but not afraid to tell you about the rules. I would give it 5 stares if they had a shower available.

We waited along the road at 7:45 a.m. outside Indian Creek Campground on June 11, 2021. That was the first day this first-come first-serve campground opened in 2021. We were the 53rd vehicle in line, so we were given a site. The sites were assigned by the staff, we did not land a site with privacy, nor one with shade. It was amazingly hot. However, thankfully, we were in the park - location, location, location.
We were told there were no showers available to us in the park. We showered one day at Canyon Street Laundromat and Showers in the town of West Yellowstone. The building was definitely not clean, the dryers didn’t function efficiently; however, the showers, once you put enough quarters in, were an good temperature. Bring lots of quarters!

We got here around 4:00pm Monday, August 2nd 2021 & easily got a spot to stay. We very much enjoyed our stay here. A hike behind our spot has a beautiful creek running through. Neat!

Very nicely maintained and monitored primitive campground run by NPS volunteers. Campsites are adequately spaced with preference to the sites on the outside of the loop. Huge plus is no generators! Quiet hours and bear precautions are strictly enforced. Fine by me. Good location to access all northwest areas of the park as Canyon and Old Faithful.

With our senior pass it was only $30 for the three nights.
Campground, roads and vault toilets very clean and well taken care of and quiet.
From what I can tell sites are pretty level.
Host are friendly, informative and approachable.
Prior to coming I was concerned as the prior review stated 35 foot total length including tv. However for this campground there was nothing indicating this except in the reviews and on one picture. So I figure it must of been in the past or a isolated time.

Very woodsy. No generators. We had a tent. Quiet. Peaceful. Pit toilets were VERY CLEAN. This is run by the national park service and it was much better than third party campgrounds we have stayed at in YS.

We didn't know what to expect when reserving this primitive campsite, but were pleasantly surprised. We would definitely go there again. Spacious tent campsite 61B. Vault toilets not my favorite but the good outweighed the bad.
