“Grab a pint and a bite to eat!”

It was several years in the planning stages …. And the next logical step …. For IMAGES of 66 author David Wickline of Columbus Ohio, in his quest to help educate the world about historic Route 66 by documenting the legendary ribbon of asphalt and crumbling Portland cement, for current 66 travelers and also for our future generations. After traveling the full length of our old highway fourteen times (plus a couple dozen partial times), authoring two books about Route 66, and successfully guiding several motorcycle tours along the length of the Mother Road …. it became a very important mission for David to bring Route 66 to Columbus, Ohio and educate central Ohioan's about our historic Mother Road. “The 66”, as some customers are already calling it …. Is a restaurant serving up quirky comfort foods David found here and there in Mom and Pop Diners and Cafes along old 66 with a few other nostalgic menu items from the ‘50s and ‘60s added in. The interior is a veritable museum of Route 66. The walls are plastered with dozens of Route 66 shields and other road signs along with thousands of photos taken along the Mother Road as well as postcards and anything 66! There are lots of posters of Corvettes, old cars and trucks as well as David’s favorite, the Harley Davidson! The Roadhouse is also home to David’s autographed Cadillac Ranch model. In the evening the 66 turns into more of a bar in the evening with live entertainment on the huge patio stage for both Wednesday & Thursday Bike Nites and a full Band every Friday !!!! “I am simply amazed at the huge amount of roadies who show up here at the Roadhouse” says David, “It started the first night and there is never a day goes by that someone wants to meet with me and talk 66, or have me autograph a copy of Images of 66. It is so satisfying …. And I know deep in my heart …. That this was the right thing for me to do to honor the old beloved highway we adore so much”.
