“the perfect stay for snowbirds”
G’Day and Thank you for choosing Walkabout Camp & RV Park as your destination stop over. Our park was originally established in 1994 under the name King George RV Resort. Now, with a new name and new owners taking over at the beginning of 2011, we feel excited about making improvements that will benefit everyone. Perfect for Snowbirds!! We are conveniently located at Exit 7 on I-95 between the city of Woodbine and Kingsland Georgia. 40 Full Hook Up. 30 & 50 Amp Sites. All sites pull thru!! Close to Historical St Marys, Amelia Island, Woodbine Opry, Cumberland Island, Okefenokee National Park Wildlife Refuge, Fernandina Beach, Submarine Museum, Jacksonville Zoo and more.

Nice place to park for the night if you need the hook up but not really a camping place and you only have enough room to open your slides. Otherwise clean and friendly Did not get to check out showers but the chickens loose was cool
Great campground for our 1 night stop over . New sturdy playground was fun for all . Basketball court and sparkling pool for exercise . Owner, onsite , friendly and welcomed us using RPI . Will camp there again .
Nice hosts who work hard to keep the place functional and clean. Passport friendly (2 week limit) at $16 per day. Grass lots and sardine tight. Nice pool and trails. Big rigs welcomed.
We stopped here once before for an overnight stop, but no sites left. We weren't very impressed, but the location was ideal, close to I-95. But the owner was very nice and tried to accommodate us. The price is right as a Passport America, $17.50. This time we called ahead and got the last site!
What we liked: full-hook up, isolated but Walmart wasn't too far, quiet and the surprise was a nice little nature trail-always a bonus for us, and very friendly owner.
What could be improved: sites are small and dirt/grass. The ground was a little muddy in spots. I didn't hear the traffic off I-95 until I woke up. The "Forest" provides some sound barrier.
There is wifi if you're close to the office. We saw one person using the swimming pool. It looked nice. There are a number of long term residents and they are friendly.
We didn't use any other amenities so can't comment on them.
We camped here in our 5th wheel and we will stay again as a stop over.

When we arrived right at check-in time, there was nobody in the office to check us in. But some campers noticed my wife trying to get somebody's attention, and eventually someone came along to take care of us.
Our site apparently didn't have sewer even though we had paid for full hook-up. There was a white PVC pipe sticking out of the ground where the sewer hook up should be, but the cap was apparently fused onto the pipe permanently. We didn't care, because all we needed to do was dump at the end of our stay and there was a dump station just about 20 feet from our site.
The "nature trails" behind the campground are full of trash and are not kept very well, but there is an interesting boardwalk that goes out across a beautiful marsh area with a boat launch at the end of it. Although, there's plenty of trash along the boardwalk, and many of the boards are out completely, so watch your step!
Despite all these drawbacks and negatives, this place still gets four stars since the campground itself was nice and clean, the bathhouse was adequate, and the other amenities were all well maintained, including the pool and rec room, there was decent wi-fi, and the best part about it was that everyone was friendly and respectful, and there was a sense of community among the campers. We even got invited to the camp potluck event that weekend. If I were going to stay long term at any RV camp I've visited so far, it would probably be this one.

This is a typical private park with sites packed closely together, leaving no real privacy for occupants and very little outdoor space. There appeared to be quite a few long-term residents, including some free range chickens! Sites are all grass, so while our site was generally level there may be a lot of variation between sites.
On the positive side, the sites are all pull through and offer full hookups, including cable, at a very reasonable price. At our site the electric was flawless, the water hookup was well threaded and the sewer access was easy to open. We did not try to use the cable TV. The free wifi was also easy to use and worked fine for limited internet surfing. Also, the office was extremely friendly and accommodating for our after-hours arrival and check in, and the park was extremely quiet on a Saturday night.
We selected this park entirely because of its location during a lengthy repositioning drive, and it was satisfactory for a brief overnight stay with an early morning departure.

This is the kind of campground you would like to succeed, a nice family run business. The campground is modest, mostly a large grass field with about 40 pull through sites (with full hook-ups). The internal roads are gravel but all sites are grass, mostly level. Sites are close together but long enough for most RV's. The campground is very well maintained with modern, very clean restrooms and laundry. We stayed there in a pinch over Thanksgiving as all nearby state parks were booked.
Pros:
Very clean and well maintained
Friendly staff
Full hook-ups with pull-through sites
Nice playground for children
Cons:
Sites are crowded as common with many private RV parks
Some noise from near-by I-95
Easy access off I-95 but little else nearby
Note: the quoted price was a Passport America rate

This park is easily accessible from Hwy 95. A nice flat park with mostly pull through sites. Sites are grass and well maintained. There is a new shower/laundry house with a great fire pit. The clubhouse is nice with a pool just outside. They have their own merch and I had to splurge for a T-Shirt. The staff are awesome and very helpful. There are chickens running around and a pair of pigs next to the office.

Easy access from i95. We drove up to the office in the afternoon and the woman who greeted us was so nice and friendly. The sites were pretty close, they worked fine. The kids played on the playground. We saw some chickens running around. This was a great place for our overnight.
