“the last Great Railroad Hotel”

La Posada embodies the visions of both Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter, the hotel’s renowned architect, and Allan Affeldt, its current owner. But the story really begins with Fred Harvey, who “civilized the west” by introducing linen, silverware, china, crystal, and impeccable service to railroad travel. (He was so legendary that MGM made a movie called The Harvey Girls starring Judy Garland.) Harvey developed and ran all the hotels and restaurants of the Santa Fe Railway, eventually controlling a hospitality empire that spanned the continent.

This place is AWESOME! Ok, still a functioning train station which is awesome. The gift shop and common areas are fantastic. Didn't get a chance to stay the night, but you better believe I will in the future! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

La Posada was an excellent experience! The historic hotel was restored with impeccable detail, the grounds were beautiful and peaceful, and the staff was delightful. The uniqueness of the property, combined with its historic value make it an amazing choice, whether you’re driving through or making it the destination. I would definitely recommend to anyone!

What a great place ! Very fun with all the artwork. A nice change from all the Super 8s. Be prepared to pay for the experience but it was well worth it to me. The corn chowder black bean soup is to die for. Finally got to eat vegetables too !! And a lot of famous people are said to have come here. plus it's a easy walk to the corner in Winslow AZ to "take it easy"

Best hotel in Winslow. Amazing boutique hotel and museum. Fair price, amazing art, and oozing history. Definitely would recommend. Make time to watch the video about the hotel. Truly fascinating. Great restaurant and gift shop too.
