“Modern camping convenience meets the Old West”
Come see all the new changes to the former I-80 / Winnemucca KOA and reserve your site, glamping tent, or cabin today! Modern camping convenience meets the Old West in Winnemucca, the historic gold-mining town surrounded by the high desert and mountains of northern Nevada. Just off I-80, our staff will greet you with friendly smiles and a true Western welcome. But the Old West never enjoyed the modern comforts you’ll find here, including a fully stocked RV supply and convenience store. Whiz around the park on banana bikes or take a dip in the pool. Challenge the kids to Water Wars, a water balloon catapult game. Stretch your legs on the shuffleboard court, and let the kids unwind on the playground. At the end of the day, enjoy a “moonlight and mallows” experience around the fire, along with a scoop of gourmet hand-dipped ice cream. Downtown Winnemucca preserves its heritage with historic buildings, now home to restaurants, pubs and boutiques. Miles of trails await hikers, bikers and ATV riders.
We were only here for one night but I can say the dog parks here were great they even have a ramp to a dog shower with blow dryer. Very clean. Bathrooms and showers were VERY clean. Great place to stay.
Sincerely
The Young Family
Level pads, pull thru sites, nice pool and laundry facilities. Convenient location right off the I-80.
-The grounds are well kept up! Full hooks ups, swimming pool, and friendly staff. Bathrooms are maintained similar to hotel quality. I never saw or heard anyone outside of their camper. It was very peaceful & quiet. The only thing that I was bummed about was that there was no fire pit in our campsite. We’re big on s’mores, but after walking around we noticed that there is one in the very front when driving in. I guess it works as a community fire pit. I would stay here again just for the peace & quietness & the well kept bathrooms to stop over in my way to Idaho.
This park was so sketchy and run-down that we left immediately to stay at another park down the street. There was no toilet paper provided in the bathrooms, and most of the toilets in the women’s restroom looked as if they weren’t flushing properly. The roads are full of potholes- not fun to drive a trailer over.
We stayed in the teepee on our way through town. The ambiance was fun, but we were disappointed that all the fun stuff had closed at 5:30 pm and we didn’t get in until later. The teepee was very hot inside, and they hadn’t emptied the garbage so there were ants... and a wasp nest inside the teepee. Thankfully nobody got stung, but it basically became just another place to sleep since all the fun stuff was closed down. They don’t have the water catapult anymore either. Bathrooms were clean. Women’s bathroom needed a code from the check-in paper to get in. Wish we’d figured that out the night before.
Very clean bathrooms and common areas, neat little store, great amenities including a little fitness center and friendly hosts. Unfortunately, there is very little shade although there are several small trees planted that will help in several years time. Make sure your AC works if you travel here during the summer because you will likely be in full sun and high heat!
Our first stop on a 3 week journey. It was an oasis in the NV desert. Great sunset, clean grounds, fun pool for the kids. Our boys loved the chess set inside.
