The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley and FCPRD are pleased to announce the opening of Rose Hill Park! The new park is open daily 8 am - Dusk, only closed on Christmas Day. Rose Hill Park offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the historic and scenic features of the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley's Rose Hill Farm. A 1.2 mile interpreted walking trail winds through fields and woods and includes a spur trail to a reconstructed section of stone wall, and a 1.1 mile loop trail. The trail travels through where the 1862 1st Battle of Kernstown concluded. The park is located 1/3 mile south of the intersection of Cedar Creek Grade and Jones Road. From Winchester: Take Cedar Creek Grade west to the flashing signal at the intersection with Jones Road and Merrimans Lane. Turn left (South) onto Jones Road, continue 1/3 mile to park entrance on the left (East) side of the road. Rose Hill Park represents a unique partnership between Frederick County Parks and Recreation (FCPRD) and the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley (MSV). A fifty year lease of the trailhead area and trail corridor ensures public access to this important natural and historic site for area residents.
