“charming pet-friendly bed & breakfast”
Camellia Cottage stands on a quaint, brick-paved street in the heart of Wilmington's historic district, where church bells still ring in the hour. Our wide veranda, with its hand-painted mural, is the perfect place to sit and enjoy our lush perennial garden. Filled with azaleas, magnolias, jasmine and some forty camellia bushes, something will be blooming all year long. We welcome well-behaved, four-legged friends of our guests—consult our pet policy. We first fell in love with Wilmington on a 3 day vacation in April of 2001. By the end of the third day, we were making plans to move here and nine months later we were here! (Be careful, Wilmington has that effect on people!) Before settling in this gracious city, we called Milwaukee home, where Paula ran The Crane House Bed and Breakfast for 6 years. Preparing her for that experience were alternating careers as social worker and pastry chef. Being an innkeeper allows her to indulge her love of gardening, cooking and meeting new people. Steven's career has been devoted to protecting the environment and he is currently an independent environmental policy consultant. The lush house plants that grace Camellia Cottage owe their lives to his loving care. We hope you make yourselves at home at the Camellia Cottage Bed and Breakfast and enjoy all the wonderful experiences that await you in Wilmington.
