“the most important meal of the day!”
Track Nine Diner is Willington Connecticut's local breakfast and lunch spot. We serve breakfast all day, every day and we serve lunch every day but Sunday. The railroad line that coined our name still operates today. Back in the 1860's, willington was mostly wood lots along the then new rail road to feed the early train's boilers. Across the parking lot still stands the old train station that is now a jewelery store. The building we occupy was the original Phelps Market built by the family who lived in the early victorian style house next door. Looking at the current picture above, on the right was the Market and grain store and the left side was the US Post Office. Our breakfast bar and grill is currently where the grain room once stood and our dining room is where the Post Office was. Once the Phelp's Crossing plaza was built across the tracks and the market moved, the building was remodeled and became a hardware store. In 1997, the Track Nine Diner opened for business in place of the hardware store.
