Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on August 28, 2023Nice little campgrounds!! Very secluded!! With our America the beautiful pass it was only $15 a night! Our spot was easy to back into and plenty big !! We have a 31' camper and F150 super crew.
The campground is one way on a narrow paved road, with a hairpin turn about 1/2 way through, but with a very wide patch of road there so we made it no problem. We had electric but no water, and dumpstation is at the end on way out. Shower house and bathrooms were decent. Friendly host. AT&T cell was decent as well.

Nightly rate is 30, we paid 15 with senior America the Beautiful pass. Campground sits above a parking lot that leads to a picnic area that overlooks the dam. We stayed the last weekend in August and there were only about 9 sites occupied out of 26 or so. Very clean bathrooms and showers, All the back in sites I looked at were very level with packed gravel as a base. We pulled in and used the auto levelers and were done without having to use blocks or any other helpers. 50, 30 and 20 amp service at our site on the pedestal, easy access to the dump station on the way out but no water (contamination while we were there). No full service sites. Some boat traffic going through the parking lot during the day, but overall almost zero noise day or night. To get to the campground, you have to drive to God's country, make a left, and go about 50 more miles. But it is well worth the trip for the solitude if nothing else. Bring in food and water, from what I saw coming in and going out there really isn't anything close by. I stopped in to talk to the rangers at the park office who were very helpful and knowledgeable not just about the site but about the entire surrounding area.

This would be a great campground if there were portable water to fill tanks. The camp has repeatedly failed tests because of heavy metals. Boiling doesn’t help. So length of stay is dictated by size of fresh water tank. It’s been an on going problem and not sure how serious they are about fixing.
Otherwise the forested camp has good-sized sites that are level and most have electric. Showers are serviceable—Grungy with no temperature controls and timed shut offs. Warm water with fair pressure. There are two trails—a 3/4 mi out and back along the reservoir and a very muddy 1/2 mi Nature Trail. Verizon weak and no OTA tv.
No camp hosts or check-in. Reservations are on site posts.
