This is a boondocking spot, very tranquil. The dirt road leading to the first camping area is a little bumpy but not too bad. We came here in a 44 ft toyhauler, for anything over 30 ft the only parking choice is right at the first open area, anything after that becomes too narrow and steep. The place is very unleveled but if you are ok with that you may be ok. We tried to park very close to the creek and couldn’t fit. Very close (10 mins) to west yellowstone. We probably wouldn’t come back because it may cause a divorce over backing in... it is very dusty!!!

Incredibly easy access into the hustle and bustle of West Yellowstone Park Village (loads of gas stations, restaurants, and tourist shops) but you feel perfectly far removed from it in these 5 or so spots. The dirt road in isn’t bad: a few potholes but overall pretty easily accessed by most rigs. We’re a 25 ft ‘17 Navion and had zero issues. The sites themselves are not very level, so be warned. A Class A or a huge toy hauler might have some issues, and the only spots for larger rigs to fit in is the first 1-2 you come across (and even then since it is heavily tree’d there could be height issues) so this is really better for mid-to-small sized rigs.

Almost all sites are nestled against the Denny Creek that even in July was full and made the most serene sounds to fall asleep to. Sites 1-4 each had man-made fire pits. As mentioned, there are about 4 spots total that were set against the meadow covered in wildflowers: this is a plant lovers paradise! There was a 5th site up a steep & rocky dirt road that forked off to the left, but this is only good for tent/car campers as there is a gate at the end of that fork of the road and very little turn-around options. Tiny fire pit was there. A small truck camper might be able to work it. We didn’t walk up the road to the right of the fork, so not sure what that was like but it was also steeper and there were only a few ATV’s we saw headed up that way. We would definitely stay here again, and we think sites 3 & 4 were the best as they were shaded and right next to the flowing creek!

NOTE: get here as early as possible, as we headed in around 10 pm on a Sunday night in early July and were able to get a spot next to the creek but technically we should’ve been further away from the other campers. We felt badly but we had been driving for 9 + hours and were EXHAUSTED. Every single available spot was taken already + it was pitch black and we couldn’t really decipher where to park or how level the ground was.

NOTE: we deeply regretted not purchasing a cell booster before our trip to both Teton and Yellowstone. Cell signal is literally non-existent...which makes it nearly impossible for BLMers to find a location to camp unless you have various options and GPS/Garmin app noted ahead of time. We were also pretty shocked at how utterly jam-packed both parks were, even given Covid. Almost no one was wearing masks and all sights were absolutely full of people. So, we decided to just drive through. Will save both parks in their full splendor for another trip in the future, hopefully post-pandemic.

Right on the creek, AWSOME. Narrow road, but once you get there it opens up for the sites. A few sites only, and if you get one it’s great. Close to west Yellowstone if town is your thing. If not, you are far enough away, that town is not an issue. Bigger rigs may have a hard time fitting in, especially if the couple bigger sites are taken.

Stayed here while visiting Yellowstone. Great little tucked away spot (especially the last spot in the back). We saw a fox & coyote during our stay and the creek made for a lovely white noise all night long. Wish we could've stayed longer as it was only 18 minutes from the West Entrance and West Yellowstone has tons to do.

A creek runs right through these sites and beautiful aspens surround you. With our AT&T hot spot we had great service. The perfect place to kick back, relax, and get some work done. We have a 24 foot motorhome, and fit just fine. There were also some larger trailers coming in.

Wanted to stay close to Yellowstone but not pay the Yellowstone prices. This was a great spot just 15-20 minutes from the town of West Yellowstone. There are only 5 actual spot (even though one evening there were people parked all over with smaller vans/rigs) not very leveled but we didn’t have an issue. Pretty spread out; better for smaller rigs but 2 spots will fit large ones. There are lots of trees, a small creek and it’s mostly grassy. Enough service with Verizon and AT&T. Amazing star watching at night. During the day a good amount of recreational vehicle will drive by but was quite at night. Road is a little bumpy going in but it’s a shorter drive then it looks.

Loved this spot. Originally intended to stay at Bakers Hole campground, but it was closed for the season. So happy to have found this spot, right on the creek, plenty of sun for the solar panels, and surrounded by pines. Had paid a staggering $45 for a Hipcamp spot a stone’s throw from here on the way out, so not worth it compared to this. Only bad part was having to clean up previous campers dumped bean burrito- c’mon folks, we’re in bear country, don’t force the next camper to deal with your unwanted food!!

Rough, narrow road to get there. Lots of pot holes , mix of gravel and dirt. Stay right and you will eventually see the camping signs. We stayed all the way in the back, the best spot in my opinion! Otherwise you park in a dirt parking lot looking area. surrounded by the forest and a creek. A popular spot for overnighters but everyone was so nice and quiet. Place was clean except for some broken glass we picked up. Law enforcement vehicles drove by frequently to check on things. Lots of bear aware signs but never saw any wildlife. No bugs. 10ish minutes from the West Yellowstone entrance. The town of West Yellowstone is very fun to walk around, great ice cream, shops , places to refill propane and a few small supermarkets. We were so bummed when we couldn't get a spot inside the park, but we ended up being so happy here ! We saw some BIG rigs get up there, 40+ ft fifth wheel and A Class. Lots of four wheelers around. Dusty if it is dry, muddy when it is raining. A great spot for visiting Yellowstone!!

This was a great spot with the creek right next to us! Very few bugs lots of wildlife up the mountain with some of the most amazing views you’ll ever see especially all the way to the end of the road next to the camp site!( if you have a 4x4) I guess my only complaint would be it got crowded quickly people without a camp site would set up camp on the road right in front of others. But driving up the mountain road next to the camp we saw all kinds of wildlife elk, deer, coyote, and even a grizzly. Would definitely come back again. I have an iPhone with AT&T but did not have very good service at all my cousin had an android phone with AT&T and he had excellent service we were close to town for anything that we needed excellent camping spot for free

#4 is a great spot, nestled in some trees and the prettiest, most secluded, creekside site (although most are creekside). Follow the “main” dirt road (mostly decent, a few large potholes) to the creek. Once you are at the creek, pick a site. Don’t go up the hill to the right or left if you are a big rig or towing. Narrow, severely rutted road with no way to turn around for a long time. We did see some tents up there though. There are “4” sites, 2 of which will handle larger rigs; however, we found more than 4 camping set ups because the sites were quite large and people were willing to share as folks came in later in the day looking for a place to stay. This is especially true if you have a tent or small unit like a camper can. Take note: sites are not very level. The best part, it was so close to Yellowstone yet seemed so far away from the crowds. Best of both worlds.
