Located at the back of a large city park, the spaces are wide with a mix of open and shaded. We drove in with no reservation and had an easy check-in (cash only) and our choice of pull-through sites large enough that we didn't have to unhook for the night. Water and electric hook-up with 30 amp service, dump station on site. AT&T cell service was almost non-existent.
The park was beautiful with paths around the perimeter and open fields in the middle, perfect for walking our dog. If we were traveling through this part of the country in the future, we would definitely stop here again!

Surrounded by ball fields, bike paths, fishing pond... This park setting is close to commercial and highways. Cleanest bathrooms I've seen in awhile (Pay showers). Camping fee is for a tent (no electric) site w/senior discount. Most sites are electric & water.

This is not a state park-style campground, but rather a few steps up from a parking lot. Virtually no privacy between sites, and some sites have trailers on all sides. If you get lucky, you might have a spacious site -- only to realize your hookups are on the wrong side, forcing you to park within feet of your neighbor, which is what happened to me.
It's loud during the day, which I don't so much take issue with. But after sunset, it continued. Vehicles moving all around. Amplified live music with an audience applauding. YES, ***amplified music via speakers*** at a campground. I could feel the bass in my trailer across the campground. Add on fireworks (in August?!) and trains passing by, and it was pretty miserable.
They do not take reservations. Instead, you have to go inside and they hunt for a spot for you on a dry-erase map, and the check-in process was pretty slow. Adding stress to that, there's not really a good place to park your RV while they check you in. They also do not take credit cards; it's cash or check only.
I can't speak to how level the sites are. Mine wasn't great but I found a sweet spot that didn't require leveling, but other people definitely have leveling blocks out at other sites. I saw a few rigs that had wheels relatively level, but they had to drive over a ditch to get in.
Dump station is free for guests, $15 otherwise. But, it's centrally placed right at the main building, which is in the middle of the campground. I tend to not like an audience when dumping, so I skipped it.
In an effort to find *something* nice to say about this place, I'll say it's convenient to the interstate, there are some parks nearby you can escape to (this is a good place to stay if you want to explore La Crosse), and there are some areas to go for a walk.
Decent AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile LTE coverage.

This county park is well maintained, right on the La Crosse River, has bath house with showers, laundrybon site, pull through a long enough for our 52’, and friendly hosts. On the weekends they are full, but during the week it’s not busy and just wonderful. There are no reservations.

pretty pricey for a basic campground. Met our needs with water and electricity but flies were terrible.

There is an arch at the entrance of this park that has no clearance height listed! We almost pulled in but decided not too in case it was too short, it LOOKED short and we have a very tall fifth wheel. It’s listed as big rig friendly but we weren’t about to chance it in case we had to back out onto the busy highway. I bet the campground is nice to stay at, but really that arch needs a height clearance listed.
We arrived on a Thursday and left on a Saturday. The campground was quiet and peaceful. There were plenty of open sites both nights which made it easier for us to still feel some isolation, though there isn’t a lot of space or even any trees/bushes between sites. Quite a lot of seasonal campers here given it’s convenient location to La Crosse and Onalaska. Definitely got more lively on Friday night with lots of kids and families around, but everyone was respectful and quieted down early enough.
There’s a dog park and trails conveniently here too. Would consider staying again!

First come first served but we stayed here on a Thursday so not a problem. We stopped around 2-3 but after that it started to fill up more. Some seasonal spots but for the night it was fine. Beautiful park
