“No, it's not a druidic temple”
This place is on private property. Listing for informational purposes only. Please do not visit without express permission from the land owner. Although many say the Clinton Furnace is a Druidic Temple, the building is actually an iron smelter left over from the 18th century when the ore was common in the area and needed for the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Clinton Furnace in 1976. It is currently fenced off by the Newark water department to prevent any entrance and the liability for injury that might result.
It's incredible. There is a water fall right near it, great photo stop
