“The oldest amusement park in America”
"Kennywood is perhaps the oldest and most beloved amusement park in America. Founded in 1898, it has thrilled and delighted both young and young-at-heart visitors for more than 110 years. From the early days of the carousel, through the development of the first roller coasters, to the technological advancements in today's steel looping coasters, Kennywood has always been the park that puts a smile on everyone's face. Designated a National Historic Landmark since 1987, you'll find "Lost Kennywood," a replica of turn-of-the-century architecture that houses some of the park's most popular rides, as well as attractions that go from mild to wild throughout the park. Refuel at more than a dozen dining areas offering tasty treats that can't be found at any other amusement park anywhere. Kennywood is a unique experience and remains one of "America's Finest Traditional Amusement Parks." In fact, it's what memories are made of!"
This is a nice old-school style amusement park. Don't go expecting tons of steel coasters, on the contrary you'll find a variety of wood and steel and old-school rides. There rides dating back to the early 1900s! It's a great way to spend the day with the family :-)
Very nice park, enjoyed the rides, the lines were bearable. Don't plan on eating more than ice cream, they don't seem to understand fast food for large crowds.
awesome Amusement park! Great fun for kids from 1 to 101! Wonderful wooden and steel coasters! Loved going to Polish day, the first Tuesday in August as a kid. This tradition is still observed at Kennywood, along with many more ethnic days. Unique rides of every type, like the turtle and kangaroo can be found there. They even have 2 water rides. Love it!!!
Lovely old school amusement park. Several wooden coasters and carnival style attractions. Get some potato patch fries to get the full experience! Or save money and eat at McDonald's across the street.
