Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 26, 2022For $20 in the park, you cant beat it. I usually opt for free camping, BLM, ect. I wanted to stay in the park, and this was perfect. Bathrooms, fresh water, and short walk to the lake. The sites included a fire ring, picnic table, food storage, and a tent pad. I saw a small bear wondering the campgrounds early in the evening. The sites do fill on Fri and Sat nights, so if you're staying on the weekend, come early.

This campground, on a narrow strip of land without any hiking trail leaving it, is very crowded; we had rude neighbors clanging community bear boxes and slamming car doors at all hours of day and night. There were too many campfires blazing smokily for too many hours, road noise was significant, and the lake is polluted. No bars LTE. The Apgar Visitor Center's Wifi didn't work.
