“believed to be the largest grotto in the world”
The mission of the Grotto of the Redemption is to present in stone the whole story of the fall of woman and man, our Divine redemption through Christ, and Mary's presence in the redemption process. The Grotto is frequently considered the “Eighth Wonder of the World” and The Iowan magazine has described the Grotto as a “Miracle in Stone.” The location was placed on the National Register of Historical Places in 2001 and has been included in such features as Disney’s The Straight Story. A composite of nine seperate grottos, each portrays a scene in the life of Christ. The largest man-made Grotto in the world, the Grotto contains the largest collection of precious stones and gems found anywhere in one location! The Grotto Campgrounds has 53 sites available for campers and tents. Electrical hookups (30 amp), firewood, showers, and a central water & sewer dump station are available. Rates - $15.00 per night for campers and $10.00 per night for tents. Reservations are preferred. Upon arrival, register at the Grotto Office/Gift Shop. If you arrive after hours, you may register after 9:00am the following morning.

Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 30, 2022We were here for a rally with our Airstream. Sites are not really numbered unless you walk to the board at the shower house and you can see the general layout. There is a north campground and a west campground. We stayed at the west cg, meaning west of the Grotto. They have the electrical posts situated so that it is supposed to accommodate 4 trailers. That would be a super tight fit, but since we were a small group of 10 and there were only three other sites occupied by SOB we were one trailer per post. Some of the sites were level grass, some needed just a bit of leveling, but all were grass. There is no water or sewer. There is a dump station.
The bad was the bathrooms. Filthy, floors and sinks looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Toilet seats were so gross! I did see them empty the trash but that was it for cleaning. Thankfully we were all self contained! Nice fire pits and decently spaced in various locations on each site. You will have to be careful parking if you want a fire.
Beautiful Grotto, we took the tour and enjoyed it more than I expected. It was lovely to walk around at night and they have lights on various displays. A few good restaurants in town; we enjoyed a couple meals at the Wagon Wheel and I highly recommend.

It’s $10 for tents, $20 for RVs (electric only). We were the only ones there, so it was nice and quiet. The bathrooms were clean and stocked. The drinking water was good. It’s by some train tracks, but nothing went by while we were there. The residential area the campground is in is pretty quiet, but there was some traffic. There’s not much to do in West Bend besides the Grotto, but that is worth seeing. Overall, it’s a good stop for a night.

Just stopped here for the evening, came here when I was younger & wanted to share the Grotto with my husband. The Grotto itself is more beautiful than ever, might be my age and appreciation for hard work..Many improvements, a fountain & swans. The campground is just basic. Last time I was here it was free with only gravel. Now its $20 with grass & electric and trees around the boarder. Picnic tables very few maybe 3, and oddly placed firepits like they are meant to be shared with the camper next to you. Problems finding someone to pay - so if we don't hear from anyone we will put it in the donation box. I may stop at the grotto again, but won't feel the need to overnight here. Its a totally safe place for an evening though!

Nice small campground. Has electric, but mine didn't work. And bathrooms with showers. Aged but clean enough. Grotto shop to pay closed at 6pm. I missed but open sites. I stayed and paid next day. Trains go by. Nice people.

We stayed in the area with the shower house, not the one near the pond. For 20 dollars a night you have 50 amp service and free wifi. Check-in was easy at the gift shop which is open till 6pm. The bathrooms were clean with free showers. The camping spot is spacious with a fire ring, picnic table and a grill. You pull in on the grass with large trees providing shade. There were only 2 other units the night we stayed. West Bend is a very small town and it was quiet and peaceful during our stay.

We stayed at the Grotto of the Redemption RV park for two nights. We were in our class C while slowly making our way across the country. We had no problems getting a spot here. There are two areas. One is very close to a train line, which runs infrequently. Sites are grass, level, and reasonably well maintained. All sites are pull through. Only electrical hookups are available at the sites. This is in good condition. There is fresh water and a dump station available. Each site has a nice grassy area and there are plenty of large trees. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a park nearby with a playground.
The RV park is near the Grotto. The Grotto is a fascinating achievement worth a look if you are in the area.
We had 2 bar LTE with Verizon. Our hotspot was usable and performed very well. Campground wifi was not available.
We enjoyed our brief stay at this campground. We will stay again when traveling this way.
