“family owned and operated”
Winngray Campground is located in the Mountains of Western North Carolina, in Haywood County, near Maggie Valley and Waynesville. Our campground is family owned and operated and has served travelers since 1977. We are in the heart of Jonathan Valley, bordering beautiful Jonathan Creek. The Blue Ridge Parkway and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are our close neighbors. Winngray offers a close community atmosphere for long-time friends, as well as newcomers. The Campground has full-hookup and overnight RV sites, tent areas, park model lots, as well as camper cabins. Our sites are especially spacious. The grounds are clean, well landscaped, and offer much comfortable shade. Also on the premises are bathrooms and shower facilities, a general store, recreation room, and laundry. Winngray is open year-round. Bathroom and shower facilities are available April thru October.

In general this campground is full of long term campers. The sites are a mixture of gravel / grass pads that are fairly level.
In general, the campground’s facilities are average at best. We passed quite a few other campgrounds on this same stretch of road that I will be using in the future....

Decent, level gravel sites. Trees would provide shade in summer. Plenty of full timers, as usual, and noone bothered us. This place seemed more like a neighborhood than a parking lot. We LOVED that it was actually dark at night with only a few street lights throughout. Quiet also. Beautiful creek at back to walk along. Those spots can be for tents, which would be an awesome place to tent camp. Fenced dog park, plenty of doggie bag stations throughout. Hardly any road noise, only if you listened for it. We called 2 days prior to arrival for a spot in the winter season and they were great. Traveling in a 29 foot toy hauler. They have sites for all sizes, vans, tents. Easy in and out. Dump station.
