Plenty of sun for solar, great cell signal. The people there were very friendly, the guy that owns the property next to the park came over and we had a glass of wine. The lock keeper was friendly asked to fill out a stay slip and checked in on me throughout my stay. He told me if I needed water he would turn it on. The vault toilets were clean, each official site has a picnic table and fire ring. The sites closest to the parking area were for bigger RVs and there were other sites further away for smaller campers. There was trash along the banks but as the river floods it brings up debris, some of the fire rings had trash in them. There was trash cans throughout the park however not ever site has one. If you stop in stop and say hi to John who lives in the trailer at the entrance.

Two sites for any size rig, park on grass, bring ALL the leveling blocks. Six sites for tent campers but you have to leave your car in the parking lot. Nearly deserted when we were there mid-week. We didn’t get a chance to see the lock in use but it was interesting anyway - quite a historical snapshot. Apparently lock-master is only on site Friday-Monday.
Routing for bigger rigs:
River road south of McConnelsville was narrow and had some low branches that brushed our roof (@ 12’3”) on the way down So if you’re taller take Route 60.
Bridge with 11’6” clearance at (39.5508930, -81.6496270).
ATT 7.3 down, 2.1 up. Verizon - meh.
Water/trash no longer available on site.

The camping is free. There are even some spots on the water. It was nice because no one else was camping so we had the place to ourselves except for the occasional person at the boat ramp. Bring your own TP the pit toilets seemed to be out. There is a small trash can and electrical plug near the shed. The road is a dead end so not many cars. The town for gas/food/etc is only about 6 miles away (15 mins)
