Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on April 04, 2024We stayed here for a night on our way to FL. Great little campground along a river. The sites are small and tight and appear to all have water only. Would definitely recommend for a night or two, maybe longer if you are into fishing.

We stayed here and were happy with everything. The checkin process was easy and the staff was friendly. The site has wayer hookups but no electricity. The bathhouse is a small little trek up to the actual dam. Inside each bathroom has 2 flush toilets and a shower. The door locks to provide privacy when showering due to the fact that there is no curtain available. The location does have 1 handicap camp site but getting to the bathhouse would be hard if you have limited mobility. Cell service was full bars.

We did only 1 night here, but it was less than 2 miles off our route. I called on Friday to reserve a spot and it was easy. When we arrived on Friday, they didn't have us on the list, but it wasn't a problem since we were the only ones there. Shortly after we arrived, security came by and registered us, collecting our $5. We had printed out the permit in advance so it went quickly. The wooded area was very quiet with nice river views. Most sites are very level. Some could accommodate a 40-ft motorcoach, but you might not be able to get your slideouts out. Somes sites were more suitable for a tent. We had a 21-ft trailer with no slides and would feel comfortable backing into several sites. Gates were locked between 10pm and 6am. Right at 6am, we heard 3 siren blasts indicating the river level would rise some. It may have risen about 10 ft, but the campground was well above the water line. Shortly after, a couple of small boats launched to hunt and fish.

Camped at Killebrew Park, run by Crisp County Power Commission last night. Super cheap $5 gets you a spot with a picnic table, grill, fire ring and potable water. There are only 10 sites, all reservable. The park is on Blackshear Lake and had the POTENTIAL to be amazing. I say “potential” because the most inconsiderate campers in Georgia were our neighbors. They had the LOUDEST most obnoxious generator that ran the entire time we were there (thank god it was only a one night layover) despite “quiet hours” from 10p - 6a. We closed everything up and sweltered just to try to abate the noise to jet engine level. Can not recommend this location. ☹️

We love this campground. It’s been cleaned up, such a beautiful view! Nice attendants. It was quiet when we were here. But if there is noisy generators running all night, you can call park and they will make the people shut them off.

Would stay again. $5 , no hookups other than water. Bathrooms/Shower were probably excellent in the 1960s, but could do with complete replacement. Had really good T-Mobile 5G speeds.
Could have been cleaner, garbage only collected once in 10 days. Closest dump station I found was back on I75.
Some people can be noisy neighbors, some generators are louder than others

Staff guy was nice enough, site are a decent size and each site has water. The problem is not the camground per se. The problem are the other people in the campground. Granted we came in on a late February Saturday...but the music in the site next to us was pretty loud, genrators going on the other side of us, a massive bonfire from a family in our rear and cars driving on the "beach" in front of us pretty late into the night. It felt sketchy to us.

we live not too far from the CG. Agree with what most say. It could be a lot better. no sewage, no electricity. but for 5$ what can you expect? I only gave 3 stars since i could not comment much. I could see it being a loud, rough campground but again.. it could be quiet.

Loved this campground, for $5 per night you can’t beat it. Only has water hook up but that’s ok. I stayed at site 2 parallel with the lake, great view. The site is set back from the lake and bordered by large rocks, but that doesn’t spoil the view. The dam is in view and the gentle background sound of the water from the dam is relaxing. Easy drive in down a smooth compact dirt disc. Drive right down to the dam and the camping entrance and sign is on the left. 10 sites of variying length. I have a 26’ travel trailer and fitted nicely in site 2. Only sites 1,2 and 3 are directly lakeside but the others are not too far back.
Easy check in procedure, call ahead to book and the guy comes down to take your money, cash only though.
Would definitely camp here again. I was the only one here for most of the time. Very safe as the gates are locked between 10pm and 6am.
