Ratings Summary
This was a nice campground. I was there as a place to stay while having some RV work done on my T@B camper at the Little Guy/Pleasant Valley Trailer factory in Sugar Creek. Kandel's is pretty convenient to the factory as well as a number of Amish activities such as the Der Dutchman Restaurant (awesome buffet!!!), Walnut Creek store, furniture stores and other markets, etc. I probably wouldn't have stayed here if not going to the factory but now that I have been there it was a really nice campground and I will go there again when visiting Amish country. The restroom/shower house was great. New and very clean. There is no on-site store except for a few items for sale in the office. There is not much shade but the campground is fairly new, only a few years in existence so trees haven't had a chance to grow up yet. Most of the sites appear to be geared for larger RV's and are pull-thru's but I was in a 30 amp site along the front parking area. That is not a bad thing as that front row of sites are the few sites in the campground with shade most of the day. Also the whole campground is extremely quiet and peaceful, which is exactly what I like. There was a Hi-Lo regional camper club rally going on when I was there and it was still a very quiet peaceful campground. Speaking of noise...not many children around and not a lot of activities for kids (I love that, personally. Not a kid person, or should I say not a loud noisy campground person). No pool. A small playground. The owner is a really nice, friendly guy.
