“don't forget your "Moody Person" shirt!”
In 1927, it looked as though Waldoboro, Maine might be getting some automobile traffic from folks headed north up US Route 1. It seemed like a good idea to build a couple of cabins to see if we could find any weary travelers looking for a clean, inexpensive place to stay the night. Now, over eighty years later, we are very pleased to have served over a million people in our motel and diner. We have evolved from three cabins our first year, with no diner, to our present 18 cabins and rooms and a 104 seat diner that has become a national icon, featured in magazines and on television shows around the world. In 1998, we added a small gift shop beside the diner and down the hill from the motel. In it, we offer a wide variety of items from Maine and New England, including our famous "I'm a Moody Person" shirt. On one wall of the diner we have photographs of people wearing our shirts in every corner of the globe.
Pie! Pie! Pie! The 4-berry pie will make you weep. The very best I've ever eaten. Also great people. My favorite diner anywhere.
BEST PIE EVER!!! I have been here more than once and still haven't actually tried "real" food, just pie!
The pie was amazing! Food was good too :) Worth the stop.
