Check in was easy with a person escorting us to our site. Our site was a basic pull through 30amp, power/water. No real privacy where we were. The campground is a short drive to attractions, shopping, and beaches. There is air traffic typical of Norfolk/Virginia Beach, which you will get anywhere in the area.
There are many amenities for kids, including two pools (it was rainy when we were there, so we didn't go in), playgrounds, a jumping pillow, basketball, volleyball, and a 'Fun Zone'.
There is a good size camp store with typical tourist stuff and basic food. We didn't see the laundry facility. The bathhouse was old, but clean. The showers were individual little rooms, but when I tried to use one, I could only get cold water and the little room was air conditioned...not my idea of a comfortable shower.
My memory is that the WiFi wasn't very good, but our cell phones worked fine.
We have a VKR card, which saved us $9.52 for the two nights. For the price, this campground is a good choice with all the amenities and its convenient location.

Had issues with power at a 30 am site, they came out in minutes and moved us to a 50 an upgraded site to ensure we would have no further power issues for free. That site had cable tv issues but they spent 2 hours in the rain running down the cause and fixing it. Stayed Memorial Day weekend and it was packed but staff was excellent and kept everything running smoothly. I don’t fault them for the issues in a max capacity campground, their attention to the issues and prompt service and assistance makes the difference and we will absolutely return again!

Facilities are OK, but nothing fancy. Pool, playground, dog park, laundromat, convenience store and cabins for rent are available. They offer a shuttle to the beach (about 2 miles way), but was not working due to COVID-19 restrictions. Full hookups and pull through site, but internet wifi not consistent. One bar cell coverage only.

Helpful and friendly staff. Probably the first time I was “escorted” to our site. They had daily morning trash pickup which was extremely convenient. Tons of activities for the family and kids. They also had text alerts throughout the day of the events for the day and if the pool would close/open due to changing weather. Conveniently located minutes from the boardwalk and downtown VA Beach.

If you're a fighter jet fan, this is the place for you. The nearby air base has flights taking off right over the campground at all hours, and they are so noisy that it's hard to talk. Your windows get rattled. Some people love it, but I was trying to work and it made phone calls practically impossible. My nerves were so scrambled that I could not wait to leave. But you may like it!
Other than that, it's a typical KOA. Lots of nice trees. Some sites aren't very level, or the asphalt has big divots from previous rigs' leveling pads. It's not really near anything and there are no sidewalks along the road, so don't plan on walking.
The bathhouse nearest me had shower heads hanging straight down right in the middle of the stall about 9 feet high, so I just gave up and showered in my RV so I didn't end up getting drowned.

We didn’t have he best impression or experience at this KOA. While the site was “fine,” there were enough negatives that we would not stay here again. The positives... there were lots of trees around in our section, a nice laundry and store, and holiday lights. But a few things really turned us off. First, although there was a sign on the door for masks, most of the employees neither wore them or social distanced when dealing with customers. Second, we had a large tire rut in our spot that was filled with mud. We nicely asked if they could fill it for us, as more rain was expected, and we wanted to mitigate the mess. We were told no, that they don’t have filler (okay, that’s fine), but also they “don’t do that” and if I want to fix it myself I am welcome to. We don’t carry a shovel or rake, but several of their employees riding around on carts seemed able to do something about it. We just didn’t understand that having never encountered such a position. Finally, when you first drive in, there are rows of permanent residence trailers that are not required to keep their site clean or neat. It’s a bad first impression. Short term campers are in another location though. Per other reviews, there is a lot of military plane noise if that bothers you. We were okay with that.

It’s only a few miles to the boardwalk. There’s a bit of road noise, the sites are super close together. The staff was friendly and they sell beer!
It’s more of a family with kids type a spot. I’ll book at 1st landing state park next time. Oh and the jets fly directly overhead and they hit the afterburners as they fly over the park! It’s wicked loud!

The park charges a premium for a premium experience. They have a great pool, games, water slide during select times, bike rental, and weekend entertainment. But this place caters itself mostly to families with small kids.
The trolly bus picks up from the campground and takes you to the beach, aquarium, and many of the tourist spots. For a small price, this is a great system to avoid parking costs and driving hassle.
WiFi was lousy.
Bathrooms were great and water pressure outstanding. These guys were always cleaning or picking up something around the campground.

Traveled in a 38' Class A motor home. Roads to the campground were easy to navigate. The interior roads at the campground are a bit tight and can be challenging.
We came here early in the season to avoid the higher prices (and the 3 night minimum). It is only 40 minutes for us, so we enjoyed the short trip. It is close to everything in VA Beach. (Check out New Realm Brewery). It was cold, but we survived. We have been here before in the summer, but COVID kept us from the pool. They seem to have a lot to do here in the summer, but it is just a little too pricey for me in the summer time. The staff was friendly and the store was clean.

We stayed here 6/24 - 6/30/2022. $75.00/night weekdays and $110.00/night weekends for a Back In/50Amp/FHU site. Great campground! Only a couple of miles to VA Beach boardwalk. VA beach bus/shuttle stop conveniently located in the campground! Two great pools, nice camp store, jump pillow and newer playground. Zip lines adjacent to the campground. Nice variety of RV sites. The pocket park was very well kept and a nice feature to this campground! Live music Saturday night was great! We could hear it at our camp fire, but was not obnoxiously loud. Some people warned us that the fighter jets from the local base would be loud, but we can tell you they were just a nice addition. At their loudest (during our stay) we couldn’t hear the planes over our AC unit. Outside, we got a free air show! We didn’t mind the “sounds of freedom” whatsoever. We will definitely be back for sure!
