Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on June 02, 2023This is a no frills city park, but the price is right and the sites are very spacious. Each site is an 80 ft gravel pull through, with lots of space between sites.
They don't take reservations, but I was able to call the number on the web site and confirm that there were empty spots. We stayed in mid November, and there were only a few RVs in the park.
There is some train noise from the tracks a few blocks away, but it wasn't enough to wake us up at night.
The pedestal only had 50 amp plugs, but I was able to get a converter at the Walmart a few blocks away.

This was a good overnight stop for us on our way home to Florida. There are 12 huge pull through sites - level wiith about 100 feet between them. Lots of trees. It’s first come first served, so we just showed up at about 3:30 on a Monday, filled out the registration card and dropped our money in the lock box. Pros: full hookups, easy access, quiet, lots of space, picnic table, small street lights at night, and a dumpster. Cons: no bathhouse, no security, no host or manager on site. All but 3 of the sites were taken. The website says this is only for temporary stays but obviously these RV’s were there for a while. A couple had concrete blocks under their stabilizers. We didn’t pay close attention, but it appeared that quite a few were not even occupied that night. That said, the RV’s were not junky. We felt quite safe and enjoyed walking a short way to the fascinating Vidalia Sweet Onion Museum. (Open Mon-Fri 9-5. Highly recommended!) Note: Siri took us to a driveway on Pete Phillips road directly across from Walmart. The campground is actually further down the road around the lake almost to the intersection with Airport road.

Stayed here at the end of Sept so unsure if it’s a year round probably but we had fire ants everywhere around our site. We all got bits from them! Other than that it’s a nice park for a great price for FHU! Also I noticed that several people here are camping for a month at a time but the registration says short stays only so I’m not sure what’s up with that! Also the road beside the park got loud on the weekend with kids racing up and down the straightaway! We got here mid week with only 2 sites open so you might call ahead to make sure there is availability!

Love Sweet Onion RV Park. Only problem is that they allow long term construction workers to stay unlimited time and it prevents us visitors the privilege of parking near all conveniences Easy access, 30/50 amp service, full hookups, Only negative we have found is you have to be have to be careful about satellite access Sites are level and services are easily accessed. Just wish they were more accommodating to overnight/weekly visitors

Not at all what I expected, especially since it was 30.00
A row of long pull thru spots. If you have a large rig you’ll love it lots of trees line the area but they are Bare quite a ways up. Water, electricity, and sewer. No restroom or bath house. Seems really run down!

You have to go to City hall and pay there 30.00 Not 18.00 we were late getting there and called. Told to take any spot just come pay in the morning. Set up and we’re approached by a man that had already rented that spot but was unable to come bring his camper until the next day. So he told us it was fine to just stay there. Went to city hall in the morning and were told we needed to pay the 30.00 to them anyway. I wouldn’t go back there anyway trains come by no bathroom and just old and dirty there with no privacy.if they are that desperate for money they should at least have correct info on the website. Disappointing!!
