Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on May 02, 2022We stayed one night on our way north. Very charming small state park campground with freshly paved sites and lots of leafy green trees. Equestrian camping sites nearby with the scent of horses if you enjoy that (not my cup of tea). Very quiet on the Friday night we stayed. Did not use the bathrooms. Dumpsite is located on a nearby campground. Would stay again. We had two bars of Verizon 4G, but download speeds were so highly variable I had to use our WeBoost system.

This park only has a small amount of spots so it’s more intimate. There were some points that we were the only campers. It was very peaceful and had a park for the kids in the middle of the park. The one downside is that the dump station is down the road at the other half of the state park and the water is in the camp but not very powerful. We heard from the hosts that they will be updating the campground this year with the dump station in the campground.

We just needed a place to crash for the night and this place did the trick. Pit toilets were the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Little traffic noise and a couple trains but didn’t keep us awake. Nice shaded spots with trees and some by the play set.
Didn’t have time to check out the lake as it’s not by the campground.

10/15/2019 - Stayed overnight on the way to Detroit. Easy access from I75. Nice, quiet campground, only a few of us here. Camp host friendly and helpful. Camphost has firewood for sale.

We stayed one night in mid-November. The rates here looked to be about $7 less/night than during peak season. The self-registration was simple and we were the only ones in the entire park. Our site was nice and level and the potable water fill area was still on (although not the cleanest looking). We really enjoyed the hiking here and would definitely come back if in the area!

It’s 10:42 pm and the person next to me has been running their generator since I arrived at 5 pm. Sites have little to no privacy. Needed to stop driving and this place popped up. Would have been better off at a truck stop - noise expected. Weird to me that a state park allows generators past 10 pm.
Think it’s a good spot for horse campers. The other side is equestrian only.
Skip this place and go somewhere else.

We stayed here for two nights for a baseball tournament in Findlay. Easy access for big rigs from I-75. Drinking water spigot was right as you enter the ring of spots. Our spot 44 was a tight back in angle for my 39ft travel trailer, but was level left to right and was new pavement. The site had a fire ring, electric 15/30/50amp. I talked to a host and he said all the sites will be paved with new electric hookups soon and a dump station will be added. Power was 120V and steady. Other side of the campground is an equestrian area camping. We camped at Van Buren State Park in a Travel Trailer.
Grey water dump is on the way in/out of the campground, but is elevated so you cannot use a portable tank unless you can pump it out or it is light enough to lift. The actual full black/grey dump station is along the lake with some tight turns for big rigs, but I made it going into the oncoming traffic lane. To get to it take a left out onto 218 then left at the next road and turn right into the state park road following the dump station signs. Non-drinking water was available at the dump station. Only one dump spot is available.

Continue past the park (picnic area) signs to the east loop family camp area. Sites are mostly back in, one or two pull thru. They are ok, little tight. Electric on the inside of the loop.
