Ratings Summary
Aug 2019: this area is under renovation! They expect to have the improvements done by September 2019. This includes new picnic tables, leveling the sites with new gravel, and bear boxes. The water was yellow in color, so not sure if it’s potable or not. No dumpsters, so pack your trash out.
Most sites are very small and without a lot of space to maneuver around. The reservoir is very close, so a swim is essential.
Verizon works on extended network. In lower McCoy they eliminated two sites, so that one is much smaller now. There are lot of boondock/ off road sites near by, if you have high clearance to make it down to the water.
The 7 mile access road is well graveled and provides good access to the two campgrounds.
