Confirmed by 5 users | Last reported on October 30, 2023The campground is in a grassy area behind the fairgrounds with full hookups. We pulled in on a Saturday when the office was closed but there is a self pay station. It was 35° when we pulled in late afternoon so hookups were a must, with overnight lows in the 20s. Previous snowfall having melted off left the grass a bit soft so as my husband got our rig backed in, the ground/grass had ruts forming. Our 5th wheel is heavy. There was plenty of space. Four stars for site quality only because the ground was so soft as well as a huge puddle in the main road. That being said, in my search, it was the only game in town. Speaking of the town, we didn't explore but it didn't seem to have much going on.
We were the only ones here until almost dark when a camper on a truck came in parking at the other end of the park. Lots of privacy.
We did not use the restrooms but the website boasts of showers.
It was a great overnight stop for us. I can't imagine spending more than one night though unless you had a reason to be in the area.

My Verizon bars bounced between 3 and 4 bars.
We found several decent antenna channels.

Very quiet fairground setting. We arrived on a Saturday with sites available.
As you enter the sites on the right are back in, to the left can be pull throughs if there are not a lot of people already parked.
FHU for $18 if you have Passport America. $36 seems a bit high if you are paying full price.
There is a nice little museum at the fair grounds that we think was worth the time ($3 if you are 55, $5 otherwise) and is run by the National Parks. We also checked out Lava Bed National Park.
Get gas and groceries before landing here.

Price reflects 50% PA discount. That made this a beautiful grassy area to park in near Lava Beds National Monument and Crater Lake. We toured the museum for a few dollars and got an hour or so worth of amusement and the neighbors were pleasant. It seems like quite a few people here are repeat visitors and enjoyed the quiet off path feel. The town offers few amenities and we drove 10 minutes north to Oregon for fuel.
There is a self check in drop box for late arrivals but you can pay at the fair office during business hours.

This is a good stop for a night or two while traveling. We camped here one night and had full hookups even though we chose not to use them. Some sites are not very level, but we managed to get one and leveled on the first try. Another large rig had to change spots to get level. It was very quite at night.

Full hookup, grassy sites, some fairly level sites others have a slight incline. Being a grassy site it was a little bumpy but we did not have to adjust for leveling, There was an old trailer there but no problems. A few other campers that have been there for a little while even though they have a 3 day stay limit. We stayed 2 nights and it was quiet while we were there and no fair activities going on the grounds. We were passing through and needed a few days rest. We had Passport America membership and paid $18 per night so that was a great deal. We would stay there again. There were restrooms there but we did not check them out.

This is a very nice campground that we will be visiting in the future on our next road trip up to bend. Newer electric 30 and 50 amp pedestal with water and sewer. Very easy to back into.

We arrived on a Sunday. Two other campers were on site, but they were the bus drivers for the Nursery’s Field Crew who were staying in one of the buildings at the Fair Grounds. The lows were in the mid teens, we were seeking a 50amp site. The first two 50 amp sites had a ground issue and did not work. Site #23 had a working 50 service. We did not need water or sewer hook ups. We could not use the bathrooms or showers as the Field Crews were using them and it was busy. It was a okay stay for one night. Not sure we will stay again until the Fair Grounds can improve, update, and guarantee that the electrical at all sites are in working order.
