Very beautiful views from every section of the campground. You can see the sunrise on one side and the sun set on the other. Mr. Ron is a very nice guy. If you have any concerns hell address them right away. You can fish and throw your cast nets right off of the floating dock, as well as load and park your boat (20ft and under is $10 a night and anything over 20ft is $15 a night). This is a very family and kid friendly place. I have a 7 and 10yr old(girls), they LOVE it and ask to go back all the time. Hes remodeled and painted the bath house and they stay clean and stocked.

The mood rise over the marsh was beautiful! Very quiet and Ron was SUPER helpful with helping us in. Don’t expect a “resort” but bathrooms are clean and rustic and spots are level. Beautiful drive in with Spanish moss covered trees. 36’ classA had no problems getting in. $45 rate is for Full hookups. And we were right along the dockside of the marsh. Cell coverage was in and out. A little Buffering on Netflix.

This place is the perfect place to camp. Everything is very clean and well maintained and it has the most beautiful view of the river. The sunsets and sunrises are incredible here! The owner of the campground is very friendly and welcoming. We had a great time here! Definitely will be back!

Ron is a great host/owner and accommodating. We had to leave early and Ron refunded the unused 2 nights (something many campgrounds would not do). There are some updates needed for the campground, however the location is great and especially for boaters/sailors with the updated dock and lift.

Owner is full of bologna, no amenities, piss poor place to stay it was an old trailer park, hookups are wrong you will spend more money buying extensions, way more expensive then other places, not taken care of. May end up with tree falling on your rv, makes you sign contract so if your rv gets destroyed on his property he’s not responsible, he’s a worm don’t trust this guy. Worst camping experience to date

Ron was there to greet me and initially directed me to the Hugging Oaks part of this property. It is nestled in the trees, does not sit on the water and is where longer term guests stay. My plans to stay for 9 nights, Ron quickly redirected me to the sites overlooking the White Chimney River. I prefer a more quiet / rustic vs RV Park feel and welcomed the beauty that rural Townsend GA area offered. My rig allows me to be self contained so I did not use the restroom facilities. I did look at them based on some of the reviews and would be happy to use them if needed. The sunsets and sunrises were breathtaking along with the energy the river offers with strong tides going in and out. I did get to witness 2 dolphins swimming upstream. It was great fun to watch other campers catch fish along the docks. The Sapelo Island tour is a must if you have the time, make reservations - it’s the only way to get on this pristine island to learn about the unique history of this area.

This is a no-frills off the beaten path campground, but the location can't be beat. The owner Ron is friendly and helpful. It is quiet and peaceful, and we had no issues with any of the other RVers. The campground is all dirt and seashell roads. Our site was level and we had room to park next to our camper as long as no one else was put in the site next to us. There's no picnic tables or fire rings, no pool, hot tub, laundry facilities, or gameroom. There's no gate or security, none seems to be needed. The spaces are close together, but the park wasn't full while we were there for two weeks during March/Spring Break, and many were spread out with empty sites in between. There seemed to be several water and/or sewer issues while we were there. I'm still not sure whether we were in site 22, 23, or 24. Our electric was plugged into 24, we were parked in front of the site 23 sign, and our sewer was plugged into site 22, or it was all vice-versa...I'm not sure. It was weird.
The first morning after our arrival, the water to the park was turned off. When I called the park number, Ron said he didn't want to call everyone to tell them it would be off for a short time. True to his word, it was back on in 30 minutes. Twice we saw someone working on/cleaning out the sewage. It kept getting full or something. Lots of activity with that. My husband had literally just purchased a new water filter before we arrived at this campground. By the time we left two weeks later, our water was barely streaming into the toilet bowl. The park has very low water pressure anyway, so we thought it was just that. However, when we got to our new campsite today in Charleston, SC, we noticed that the brand new filter from two weeks ago was completely clogged. My husband put another brand new one on today and our water is coming into the toilet at the expected higher rate now. There are some water issues at this RV park, but we had fun, enjoyed the gorgeous views and sunsets, learned a lot about high and low tide just by watching it daily, and would stay here again. We never used the bath house, but the women's restroom and shower that I saw were sufficient and clean. I would not call them safe and secure. It would be easy for anyone to walk in there while someone is showering.
There's an older RV that has been made into an interesting Airbnb on the property. It has an added living area, patio, and cute interior design. I'm not sure what the price would be for a week or whatever, but it was cute.
Everyone we met at this campground was friendly and very chill. No one seemed to be working while they were here. All were on vacation, just passing through, visiting nearby family, etc. Life is slow here, just like we like it.
We recommend eating at nearby Altman's. The shrimp was delicious. Piggly Wiggly had everything we needed in a grocery store. Both the Eulonia laundromat, and the King's Laundromat in Darien, are dumps. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
Regarding wifi and phone reception - we use a dedicated device - ATT phone hotspot and had great service the whole time.
The only reason I'm taking off one star is because of all the water issues.

This was a one night camping stay for my husband, me, and our dog. We arrived before sunset and got our tent up and toured the grounds and the docks before the sunset. Although we didn’t see the sun actually set for the trees, it was still nice. We enjoyed the inner coastal river feel of the place. There were only two RVs and a plethora of sail boats parked at the dock. The owner lives on the grounds. The bath house is simple but sufficient.
