Just 5 minutes east of Tok, this state recreation site is a small campground with a single loop of sites. Campground has some river front sites, mostly for tenters but a few RV river sites as well. Sites are reasonably sized with picnic tables and fire pits. All sites are back in and you can see your neighbours. Site 1 was larger and longer and on it’s own by the entrance with better privacy.
Campground is adjacent to the highway and located by the bridge over the river. Traffic noise is significant, particularly when vehicles rumbled over the bridge, but there is minimal traffic overnight so it is not a problem for sleeping. There was very loud road construction that started around 9am while we were there. The river has a good current and was murky in colour while we were there – not good for swimming.
Water is available by pump but the well is deep so you have to pump many times to draw it – a very good workout to get a small amount of water. There were pit toilets and garbage bins but no showers or recycling.
Excellent cell reception for AT&T and even Bell Canada got service here. We found the AT&T cell tower in Tok by the visitor centre. Good visitor centre with lots of info and some interpretive displays.

There are some new pull through sites that are nice and long. They are next to the road but it’s not too noisy. There is a new bridge so there is little to no noise when cars go over it. Only 18$ a night
