Ratings Summary
25 miles out of Tofte MN, primarily on gravel roads. We ended up here on a Saturday evening, having had some bad directions for our goal campground. We were lucky they still had some nonreservable campsites available. This is a campground with a number of reserved campsite.
The concessionaire is a canoe outfitter. You can go right into the Boundary Waters from Sawbill Lake. They have an excellent store, available wifi, and you can even pay for a shower here.
Campsite were private with lots of greenery between sites.
Vault toilets were very clean.

When we arrived all of the water sites were taken. The others were well spaced and just a short walk to the water. This is a very nice campground with pristine waters and surrounding forest. There is water, dump station, and pit toilets. There is also an outfitter store which has a nice selection of supplies and showers.
The fishing was tough when were were there since the May flies had hatched but the scenery was outstanding.
