Half of the spots are rented to full-timers, including a bunch of 20-somethings using an RV as a pot-smoking crashpad (you can smell it). Not a mask in sight, anywhere. The road noise is excessive, and the wifi is very spotty. When you check in, you're told to "go pick a spot", from a selection of spots that are literally right on top of each other. So despite a full section of open spots, they insist on cramming folks into here one on top of another in a very dense area.
Was a happy permanent/ seasonal camper until 2023. New owners have forced out or removed 40+ seasonal families. Quiet hours flexible up to 2:30am is owners are part of the action.
Campground conditions are going down hill as well. Late mowing leaves long grass covering ground by swing set in seasonal side. Tall weeds not cut down along river and not taken care of in past two years.
Two huge burn piles, one with cabinets and housing fixtures right in view of the river.
Behind office looks like a junk yard simular to Sanford and Son.
Can't access River for tubing or canoeing unless thru their business and fees.

This is a nice clean park that is just across from the HWH factory. I was there to have some work done on my coach. Only items of note are it is a bit noisy if you are towards the south side, close to the highway. And the road into the park is the dustiest I have been on in a long time. White crushed stone that turned my black tow vehicle totally white :)
Parking on level grass with FHU.
Cellular not real good due to location in the river valley.

Arrived after hours and was able to self check in easily. A lot of sites available but not a lot that are level. Dusty road coming in but easy to access from I80. Swimming pool closed for the season and didn't walk over to the mini golf course. Showers and restrooms had no codes and building was right at entry, close to I80. Didn't feel comfortable using. Price was for w & e only, tho they do have FHU. Literally next to the interstate so run your AC to drown out the noise.

Right up against the interstate. Even their 8’ wall is no help with the noise. You’ll want to stay inside with your A/C running just to drown it out. Thankfully, it was hot and humid and we were doing a quick stop before moving on, so staying inside was fine.
If you have ear plugs or no hearing, then this is a really nice park. Mature trees, steps from the river, lots of picnic tables, swimming pool, playground, horse shoes, on and on.
Row A is the most level. Big rigs will want to choose these sites. The other rows are all on a serious slant, some in multiple directions.

We made reservations at Cedar River Campground during our summer road trip. We had prepaid for 2 nights and after following the directions provided, we were shocked to have to drive down a dirt farm road and the vehicles coming the opposite direction were travelling some 40+ MPH, you can only imagine the dust cloud and rocks hitting our coach. Once at the campground office, which was closed, mid-day, we unhooked out tow vehicle and proceeded into the "campground". It looked like a homeless encampment with old run down RV's parked very close to each other. We didn't feel safe saying and decided to forfeit our 2 night fee, just to get away.
We did find a County Park with what seemed like hundreds of full hook up sites. It was clean and well run and only a few miles east on I-80. The Scott County Park would get a solid 9+ from us. We ended up staying an extra couple days in that lovely park, closer to Davenport, IA.
Our advice would be to "Just Say No" to Cedar River Campground!

This place has seen an impressive turn around under the loving care it’s new owner. We cannot recommend this spot highly enough. Super considerate of the needs of their customers, leveling of the sites, excellent customer service.
Stopped on a cross country trip from CA to CT in June (late to review!) but felt so warmly welcomed and would so love to stay here again!
