Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on July 03, 2022We enjoyed our short stay. The staff are friendly and go above and beyond to be helpful. Nice sites for short stays. Longer term are in a recreational area that is not as nice, but we were told the campers are mostly workers who are out during the day or long timers waiting on a lakefront lot.
Firewood is available at 50 cents a piece. There is a small store at the entrance. There is some noise from the highway, but it didn't bother us that much. Overall we would recommend this Campground.

This campground is located conveniently off the highway and if I’m in the area, I will stay here again.
In general this campground is a mixture of both short term and long term campers. The long term campers keep their sites clean and orderly. The sites are fairly level gravel pads that are fairly level.
In general, the campground’s facilities are really good. The owners of this campground obviously take pride in their facilities and keeping appearances up.
The bath house was clean and good working order. We purchased propane from the campground and found all the staff to be friendly and helpful.
This facility is a do over again for us.

I'm a full time RV traveler and stayed at Davis Lake Resort for a 2 month break. The park is very well kept, they have a nice lake with a beach for swimming or fishing, a camp store, laundry mat, WiFi but the signal doesn't pick up but overall a great place to stay.

We were in-transit from Florida to Delaware and were heading for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel out of Norfolk. This was a convenient place to stop. We had a site in the woods, very good shade, pull-through, full hookup. There is a loop out in the open, make sure you do not get put there as there is no shade. Our site had a raised wooden patio which was very nice, plenty of room for the picnic table and our chairs. We had biked along the Great Dismal Swamp Canal some years ago and were somewhat familiar with the area. A nice side-trip is to the Great Dismal Swamp park, many trails and a very large lake suitable for kayaking.

As full timers we checked out Davis Lakes as close to family and work. They have 3 sections and we stayed in the daily/weekly sites overlooking the lake beach. This was a premium site at no extra charge and we were able to walk out or door and down the stairs to the beach whenever we wanted. The sites are all level and easy hook ups. Andy guides you to your site and assists in parking. This was wonderful since we were new to towing and since Andy's personal instruction my husband has been able to park our RV anywhere.
The only complaint I have is your not allowed to wash your truck onsite and the squirrels were dropping "stuff" all over our vehicle constantly so it stayed filthy. We went down the road a couple times to the wash it off.
For the Memorial Day weekend they had a lot of family activities and on the weekends they have a bunch of HUGE floats in the water as an obstacle course. I think it cost $5 per person extra even if your staying there. There is a snack bar and game room. You can rent golf carts which we did one day for $40 when our grandkids visited. The laundry facilities are very good too.
There are 3 lakes. There are year round campers around 2 of the lakes. And the 3rd section is a look of monthly year round sites.

We love this campground! The lakes are beautiful and they have an awesome aqua glide park to play on in the middle of one lake. Theres a nice swimming beach and fishing without permit. You can kayak as well. The gravel sites are nice with a little wooden deck, picnic table and fire pit. I got lucky and got one with shade but most are full sun. The hookups are convenient and work well. We camped at Davis Lakes Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice campground. Sites are large and level. Bath house is clean and neat. Again this is a very nice campground and the prices are inline with others. We are glad that many campgrounds do not allow Pitbulls.
Way over priced and doesn't allow pitbulls. Spend your money elsewhere!!!!
A bit pricey, but the lake use is great and most sites are very nice.
