We stayed at this campground and really disliked it. It was crowded with little room between sites. It was noisy all weekend long with loud music playing until quiet hours began at 11pm. We like quiet and peaceful and if that's your thing too, then don't bother with this place. Because of our experience, we would not recommend this place to anyone nor will we come back.
We happened to be staying over the Halloween weekend and we were not warned or told that they invite the neighboring community to come trick or treating on Saturday evening. Because of the crowds and I do mean CROWDS of people, they close down the campground to traffic. We returned from an afternoon out with groceries and were told we couldn't drive to our home. Let's just say this was surprising to us and we were very angry at the no warning of the closure. After having words with the management we were allowed to drive to our home. To top it all off after the trick or treating ended, loud music went until 11 pm. The thumping was unpleasant when all we wanted was a nice quiet Saturday evening at home.
It is my understanding they have parties here every weekend as they gave us the 2019 schedule of weekend events. Definitely not our scene and we would like to warn others about this noisy and annoying place.
In addition to the noise and crowds, the dog run is a joke. It's a small fenced in area with trees all over and not any room for the dogs to actually run. There is also a sign that states no toys allowed. Our pup enjoys playing fetch and this dog run was too small with too many obstacles to do that. Why bother even having a dog run if my dog can't bring a toy in and there's little room to actually run around off leash?
If you're looking for noise, loud music and crowds, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, stay away.

This campground has 3 distinct areas: nightly camping, seasonal sites, and monthly sites (where we stayed). All are very nice in their own way, and mutually welcoming. The owners live on site and have taken great care to revive and expand on a traditional family-oriented camping experience. When we called to book 10 days in October, we were told about their two traditional Halloween weekends, which were fully booked. However, space was still available in the monthly rental section, so we opted to do that.

What we loved: Warm welcome, escort to site, super friendly staff and neighbors, great care in maintaining a family atmosphere--no open drinking, excessive noise or rowdiness, reasonably priced food options on site (Friday night outdoor buffet, Tie Dye Wagon for weekend light meals, and The Eatery with a great Sunday brunch). Camping and food/beverage are reasonably priced. Creative activities like a well-attended chili cook-off were fun. It felt like an oasis to us and we enjoyed the ebb and flow of busy weekends and peaceful quiet weekdays. Daily trash pickup at each site, wood delivery service. Fabulous location for exploring the Shenandoah Valley area; we hiked, biked, went to festivals, visited museums, and ate well.

Cons: Very few, frankly. The sites are a little close together. It's not a ritzy place. It is a very comfortable restored and expanded local treasure.

We will be back. 40' Class A + toad

Well maintained, clean, very friendly and helpful. This was our first time out after trading to a larger camper, from a 27' to a 38'. We camped at a pull-thru site next to an open grassy area . Yes there were kids playing basketball and other things but quiet hours observed. We were hooking everything up and needed another length of sewer hose and an employee saw what we needed, said he had what we needed and gave it to us. This was a great shakedown trip. WE WILL CAMP HERE AGAIN !

Park is in the trees not solar friendly. The grounds where clean place was easy to get to well marked signage but spaces are way to close. I don't mind neighbors but, don't care to know what they are thinking, spaces way to close. Be ready for noise day and night. Was there Thurs thru Sunday so there was Loud music all day on loud speakers at the brown swimming pond that echos all around the area. Fireworks and bands up to 11 at night. May be different during the week. The noise scared the H out of our pets. The lady in the registration office was nice the grounds well kept was my positive.

We were staying here with our two children and no dogs. As far as that’s concerned was a great place !! Lots for them to do, great swimming lake, employees were a pleasure. Trash pick-up was awesome !! Our site was gorgeous. Not a full hook up(more on that later), but absolutely perfect. Very private while still having next door neighbors. Music and such till quiet hours, again fine if that’s your thing. This is NOT a quiet or private campground. And that’s ok, as long as you’re aware. Ok, now to the gripes. Not many, but here goes. GOLF CARTS. Dear gods, these people won’t walk 20’ to the bathhouse !! It was insane. I expect bikes and such, but it seems as though there were some kind of secret society that unfortunately I didn’t get the memo about. Couldn’t hardly walk on the roads, because of the golf cart traffic. Aaaaaaand, the dump station. Oh yes, that old chestnut. Since our site had no hook up (no regrets) we needed to dump before leaving. It’s conveniently located on the way out, BUT was completely overflowed. Toilet paper everywhere, and oh the stench. Which kicked of our search for another dump station, but that’s a tale for a different time. Will definitely be going back when we have the children, but will probably find something a little more quiet when it’s just us. Everywhere has their issues...Overall, great experience. Thank you Shenandoah !!

We stayed here passing through for a night. We were just looking for a decent place to spend the night with some hookups.
This place is pretty crazy. Sitting at our dining table in our airstream I could see 13 other RVs. We could watch multiple TVs in other peoples campers. Once the sun went down, the party really got started… led lights, four wheelers and golf carts, loud music and people carrying on till the wee hours of the night.
Not our idea of a laid back night camping…
Access to the site was easy
The staff was helpful
And the hookups were all fully functional…
