“Sit Awhile”
Sit awhile on the deck overlooking the apple orchard and duck pond or stroll a bit through the garden path or nature trail. The new guest house is built in the old English horse barn style. It is not uncommon to see sand hill cranes, ducks, geese and deer on the 200 acre property. Gather around the campfire and watch the spectacular sunsets. There are 2 suites at the Inn. The Huntington Suite has a cherry wood king size bed, private full bath and gas fireplace. It is wonderfully decorated in restful greens, browns and beiges in a garden theme. The Wadena Suite has a mahogany queen four poster bed with a private full bath and gas fireplace. This suite has the farmhouse guest room feel and is softly decorated in pastel aqua with white lace curtains in the traditional style. The guest sitting room is very cozy with games, library, classic movies and a spot to curl up with a good book. Breakfast is well waking up for. Come downstairs for an unforgettable meal in the very comfortable dinning room. Marty roasts green coffee beans from around the world to make some of the very best coffee you will taste anywhere. Your choices of breakfast entrees include Belgian waffles, carmel apple french toast, farm fresh eggs, scones, muffins, fresh fruits and juices and so much more. You will be served special jellies made on the farm. Jellies and marmalades are for sale year round at the Inn. The Carmel Apple Orchard Inn supports the Green movement by having a tankless water heater, E-glass thermopane windows, fresh air exchanger and energy saving appliances. Over 3% of the farm's energy comes from wind power. In late fall the apple crop is ready for harvest which is usually the first week of October. During this 6 week season the orchard is open also. During the apple season, you can stop in to purchase a fresh caramel apple, jellies, dutch apple pies and bags of sweet, crunchy tree ripened apples. The varieties of apples that are grown at the orchard include, Honey Crisp, Honey Gold, Cortland, Haralson, Wolf River, Connell Red, Sweet Sixteen and Keepsake. All of the apples are grown chemical free which adds to their goodness.
