“"One of the World's Most Amazing Sculpture Gardens"”
Located on the corner of Grand and Lindell boulevards, the park features art created by Melvin Meyer, S.M., who is more affectionately known as "Brother Mel." Pieces include "Blue Moon," made of bright blue painted steel, as well as "Circle of Green," which features larger-than-life bright green steel figures, reminiscent of blades of grass. The park is named for Ellen Clark, the late wife of Bob Clark, SLU trustee and chairman and CEO of Clayco construction company, who died in 2010 of cerebroretinal vasculopathy. The Clarks invested considerable amounts of money into researching the genetic disorder, which Ellen Clark's father and grandfather also suffered. Ellen Clark Sculpture Park was one of only two gardens from the state of Missouri to be included on the list. The other was the Laumeier Sculpture Park, the open-air museum and sculpture park located in Sunset Hills.
