Explore 79 acres of forest, glade, woodland, prairie plantings, creeks, and frontage on Lake Springfield, and experience the visitor center's multi-sensory, self-guided exhibit area. The Springfield Conservation Nature Center provides free conservation educational activities for all ages. Indoors, enjoy nature exhibits, attend programs, purchase hunting and fishing permits, browse through a nature-related gift shop and pick up free conservation brochures. Outdoors, enjoy three miles of hiking trails through a variety of natural communities. Call for events information.
Nice park. Very helpful staff. Nature center not open on Mondays.
This is a nice conservation area, very clean, nice trails, super cool visitor center. If you're looking for a long hike though, the trails here are pretty short. Very nice though. Parking is good too. Great place to spend a couple hours.
Closed on Sundays
Looks like it would be great, but we didn’t stop because pets are prohibited.
