“an oasis of nature”
The Springfield Park District's Washington Park Botanical Garden is a place for enjoyment and education. The Garden provides a scene of tranquility and beauty, an oasis of nature, within an urban environment. Visitors enjoy the color of annual and perennial flower beds, the fragrance of the Rose Garden, and the refreshing shade of our many evergreen and deciduous trees. The Garden is also a place for learning.
Reviews
If you are in the area of Springfield and a nature lover then you should visit this lovely nature spot.
We decided to walk it, after we saw the wonderful flowerbeds. It took us approximately one hour to walk the whole garden but it was worth it due to the fact everything was very well cared. Trees were creating shadows and we decided to rest underneath a tree for a while, as it was a quite sunny day.
There were other people walking as well and some joggers running around.
There is no entrance fee, and you can park your car just outside the gardens.
