Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on September 16, 2021We stayed here just after Labor day and were the only campers in the park. There was some ATV activity, but nothing that was annoying. Apparently there a quite a few trails for off-road fun or hiking. Be prepared to have a mooh-alarm clock around 7am, when the cows walk by the trailer (on the lower part of the campground).
Apparently the camp host was kinda weird, we didn't talk to her. We got the info that the campground closes around 9/7, but the camp host said we could stay as long as we paid. We didn't.
You have beautiful views of the surrounding hills and forest, and it's far enough from the highway that you don't hear anything.
The campground provides water spigots throughout the park, trash and toilets. No dump station. Dubois has some amenities, Idaho Falls is an hour away with laundry and groceries.
They offer a family site, which is practically a site with two parking spaces, nothing I'd put two trailers in. Each campsite has a elevated area for a tent and big parking area, as well as concrete bench and table and a fire pit. Very well maintained.
Solar can be kind of a problem since the sites are heavy wooded. No problem for portable solar panels.
Fast and reliable internet, AT&T had service too.

Starter creek is Modestly provisioned National Forest Campground between two places… here and there. There are two sections - an upped loop and row of campsites - nine in total. The upper loop offers a group campsite and nine or ten Individual sites.
The lower row is where we stayed, which is adjacent to a gravel road leading to dispersed camping options. There is a lot of four wheeler, side-by-side, and motorbike traffic ... sometimes annoyingly so due to lots of dust.
The campground seems to be fairly active, sites turning over every two or three nights plus the occasional one nighter. The lower campground is pretty decent - sites are really long easily could accommodate long rig. The negative however is all the tree cover is of course is a double of sword. Tall trees provide plenty of shade however did not do our rooftop solar panels any favors, requiring usage of our deployable panels to keep batteries from depleting too quickly. Overall we did see about a 10 to 12% net loss of battery capacity every 24 hours.
The area is littered with trails most of which are for the OHV traffic however hiking and mountain biking is no problem - I did plenty of that while I was there.
Internet connection was decent with boost; we were able to maintain between two and three bars Verizon LTE. AT&T was weak and T-Mobile was nonexistent. Phone cellular was decent as well. Overall a pretty easy place to work remotely however don't expect blazing fast speeds or a big files to download quickly ... certainly videos conferencing or streaming will be a challenge.

We spent one night here on our way back home to Florida from Alaska. Most of the sites were reserved because of the eclipse, but the camp hosts were vary nice and gave us the very sweet campsite #5 for one night because it wasn't reserved until the 19th. This is a dry camping site and we got it for $5 because of our Senior Pass. Sweet deal. It is a very nice level back in site with plenty of room to hold our 31' overall length TT and truck without unhooking. The site is close to the bathrooms and has a nice metal picnic table, a metal platform for a grill and a fire ring. The campground does have water outlets here and there. The road into it is fairly good gravel and since this is a Thursday night the campground is virtually deserted. Love it! The campground is around a mile off I-15 at exit 184. We recommend this campground!

We came to the area to visit the Spencer Opal Mine. This campground is about 4 miles away and tucked up into the woods. Sites were fairly level and set up with nice fire rings, tables and grill stands. Occasional freeway noise but nothing too distracting. Lower loop spots are close to ATV roads-potentially more noisy and dusty if staying on the lower level.

Very nice camp. Camp hosts are friendly, and knowledgeable. The sites are clean, tent pads are nice (flat, clear of rocks). Pit toilets are likewise clean and free of odor.

Only about one mile off the interstate, this is a hidden gem. Sites were first come first serve on a Sunday evening, and there were several to choose from when we arrived. Sites were level, easy to pull into the spot and relax with minimal effort. Everything was very clean and tidy. The campground is tucked against a mountainside, across from our site was a beautiful meadow with free range cattle roaming about. The perfect peaceful spot to stop for a night, or for an extended stay. Will be back for sure.

We stopped by Stoddard Creek around 7:30 on a Thursday in hopes there might be cancellations. The site is beautiful and wild despite being just a mile or two off 90. The host was very welcoming and shared he had a few cancellations! He took us to site 4 which had an incredible view of hillside across the way and told us about the elk that come down in the evening. The Kids had so much fun watching w binoculars. Great smelling bathrooms, drinkable water. Nice and quiet. Literally the best site we’ve ever visited!

No hookups, but water is available around the campground.
Sites were spread out and semi-private. Loved the wild flowers and aspen growing near site 13, but didn't like the carved trees with initials, etc.

Drove up on a Thursday late afternoon and upon reaching the campground were greeted by the camp host Todd. He drove us up to our site and talked to us for a bit. Super nice gentleman with a lot of knowledge of the campsites and surrounding areas. Very clean and beautifully treed campsite.
Will stay here again the next time up this way.
