Mile Creek County Park

Mile Creek Campground is now one of my favorite spots. The views being right on Lake Keowee were incredible. Campground was clean, well maintained, bathrooms were clean, staff was friendly. Only negative was no Sewer hook up.

We enjoyed our 4 nights and will definitely come back! Site 69 is narrow as are many site with curbing on 3 sides. There’s room at the back of the site for sitting out but not much space under the awning. In hot months being on the East facing side, like 69, 25, would be ideal or in a high wooded spot on the West side 49,50,51, those site lack the feel of being on the water.

County park, guys are always working on cleaning up. It’s on a point out in the lake, so even non-water front sites have water views. They also have docks for your boat. Only down side is it’s a smaller campground so you’ve got to plan ahead especially on weekends.

We had views of the lake out every window of our RV. One of the prettiest camping we have experienced. Some of the sites here are a tight fit between the trees. Our site was spacious, and a little unlevel. We had to use some leveling blocks in the back, but was not too bad. There is lots to see and do in the area. We will be back.

We enjoyed our two nights here in November for the unbeatable off season rate of $12 per night including water/electric hook up. The county park has 70 sites and many are prime spots right on the lake. I imagine in the summer it could be a mad house here as it is definitely a prime location for recreational boaters and fishermen. But our visit was in November when camping fees are reduced and the park was not full. We enjoyed kayaking all day on the beautiful lake. There is quite a bit of boat traffic so it is not always a serene landscape but there is plenty of beauty to take in and it's large enough for everyone to enjoy. Bath houses are older but clean and adequate.

We came down with a few friends to celebrate some warmer weather. The campground is a fairly typical state park campground. Adequate amenities and decent sites. We camped out on the peninsula so we had great southern views of the lake. There are multiple small beach areas for launching kayaks or swimming. Overal this place seemed pretty laid back with nearly every site having views.
