Nice tree lined campground, peacefull, well maintained, didn’t use restrooms. Quite a few long termers. Have to pay $4 for internet for 24 hrs. No cable tv hookup, nice picnic tables and fire pits.

Last minute trip with the family, we had a blast! Nice, well kept family campground. Bathhouse was spotless. Close to shops, forest, shopping but you'd never know it, so quiet even with lots of other campers. Fun activity bags for the kids. Would stay here again!

We needed a place to stay for the night on our way from Indiana to Rhode Island and saw good Yelp reviews for Rustic Acres, so we decided to try it out, over staying at the Love’s Travel center in Brookville. The staff was very nice and when we arrived guided us to our spot. The campground is about 15 minutes off Route 80, adjacent to a mobile home park, but has a nice woodsy feel and both the mobile home neighborhood and the campground are nicely maintained. Bath houses are well maintained but basic.
The campground has 2 levels. The sites at the beginning seemed to be occupied by long term campers. The middle of the upper level are the easy pull-throughs for any size big rig and are the closest to the mobile home area. Past that section is what the camp manager called the “van life” section, including site 15, where we stayed. The level part of these sites are short but level and the back of the sites are slightly downhill. The fronts of the sites have nice small gravel. Unpaved trails around the sites and around the campground were nicely covered with wood chips. The back of sites 13-16 are directly in front of the bath house, but do have a nice amount of room for chairs, table and a nice fire ring, and all have full hookups with 30 Amp service. Note that on the website, these sites are described as having 15 Amp service and no sewer, but we had both. Across the street from sites 13-16 is a brand new building, called the Hub, that has several nice seating areas, a large table with chairs and a few smaller tables and chairs. It offers free coffee/tea in the morning. Building lights remain on all night, but are not overly bright and didn’t bother us, even with our windows open. The Hub also has high speed internet, which we were able to pick up.
The lower level sites feels more like you are in the woods, and is adjacent to the creek. There were no campers in this area, except for a few seasonal rigs, still under wraps, so we couldn’t gauge how close these sites were, or which would be preferable if the campground was crowded. These sites are closer to the laundry, and the nice playground. There are also a few primitive sites right next to the creek.
Overall we had a great experience here and would recommend it for a short or longer stay. It looks very family friendly here. And if you are looking for hiking, there is a state park just to the north-east which looked like it had some nice trails when I checked on All Trails, but the weather didn’t cooperate with us taking a hike.
