Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on July 29, 2023We were successful in enjoying our 2017 eclipse totality at this campground. The staff were friendly upon arrival, but alcohol is STRICTLY prohibited. Not like your typical park where so long as you don't disturb others a beer in a coozie is not grounds for dismissal from the park. Some other people we knew in the campground were kicked out because they were unpacking their car and left a bottle of wine sitting on their picnic table. The lake is nice, but the beach access has a lot of geese and gets stirred up with the wake of power boats from the boat ramp. The edges of this lake are red clay and can be slippery and will stain suits and towels. We preferred swimming and paddle boarding in a little cove near our site on the Angler's Loop. No sewer hook ups and the water and electric hook ups are not well situated in the site. Make sure you have a long water hose and an extension cord. Some sites are level, others are washed out and difficult to find adequate tent or camper locations. No wifi. Bathrooms were nice, clean, and close. Camp office has wood and ice available for purchase as well as mini-golf rentals and ice cream for the kids. Probably would rather camp at Devil's Fork if it hadn't already been booked for the eclipse and this site was at the center of the line of totality.

I appreciate the no alcohol policy at this park, I assume that is a major reason for the quiet and peaceful setting without loud or rude neighbors. The views are great, and you have beach access, mini golf, boat ramp, concession stand all available at the park. Restrooms are clean. Power pole in standard spot, but water spigot is at front of sites so you'll need a longer than average hose for water hookup.
