Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on November 21, 2022I think if I were writing this review a few months from now, it would be more positive but for the price we paid and the current condition, I really can’t give it more than two stars. I understand that this place was vacant for some time and current owners are working to restore it. We pretty much had our choice of bay view sites and were told they were all very close to the bathrooms. Imagine my surprise when the ladies bathroom was all torn up and not usable. There were no other campers in our section so no problem, I figured I would use the men’s room. It was also in the process of being restored but at least the toilets and sinks were operational (although I would not say it was in good condition). This is where the circular saw was stored. WiFi is very weak. The upside is that campsites are right on the water and the ferry to Ocracoke is right there. I would give this place another try after the work is done but wonder what they will charge then?

Camp store, big old friendly dog wandering around, Grandpa sitting on the porch with an extra rocker for you. Boats, boat launch, boat gas, ducks on the pond and inlet. There's a deck over the water for hanging out. Everybody's friendly. Not a busy place. Very Quiet. Lots of character. The facilities work and are adequate. Slightly run down and comfortable place. Dirt or grass parking. No pavement. Did not see a laundry. Did not see the bathrooms but there are some. Good Wifi. There is ATT phone and data, Verizon phone but data weak.

The park was easy to find. It is located about 14 miles south of the Cedar Island Ferry Terminal on Rt 12. There is pavement all the way and there is some pavement in the park near the entrance. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic but a lot are ignored. There were plenty of large and small dogs running free. There was a log of doggie doo around as well.. The interior roads are dirt and some areas in poor condition.
Our site, 26, was a pull through that was plenty long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30/50 amp, water and sewer) were to the left side. Distancing is close for a rural park. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was tired looking. Many are seasonal and some are junky looking.
There is NO park included wifi or cable TV. We did find some OTA channels. Satellite will not be difficult. We did not use the washrooms or showers but found them dated and not as clean as they should be.
There is a small store/bait shop on site but are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance. Just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be a basic overnighter. We paid $35.00 plus $2.10 in tax per night and we feel we received fair value but would not be back because of the free roaming dogs and it being a little junky.
