“the perfect view of the white river valley”
1.5 miles/2.4 km (round trip) Moderate to strenuous. After meandering through a canyon, this trail climbs a log ladder and follows a ledge to "the Notch" for a dramatic view of the White River Valley. Trail begins at the south end of the Door and Window parking area. Watch for drop-offs. Not recommended for anyone with a fear of heights. Treacherous during or after heavy rains.
Great trail. There is a bit of climbing. Watch small children. The ladder is not bad going up, but you have to watch your step as you start down. Beware of snakes. We came across two snakes making their way across the path.
Really fun trail. We had a shoulder carrier for our 2 year old which allowed us to climb up the ladder. If you are scared of heights I would not recommend. After you climb the ladder the trail goes on for a ways and you get some pretty great sights.
Super Cool Trail. Only took about an hour.
