The Diner on Abercorn Open 24 hours
Quintessential family diner - fantastic food and service!
I stopped in around 11 at night to grab a late meal. I'll begin woth the positives: All of the staff were friendly. That's all I got. Don't go there. Believe me on this. I'm easy to please and had no expectations for a greasy diner late at night. But this place.....wow. I ordered a hot ham and cheese sandwich with fries. As I am ordering I notice my waiter doing what appears to be scratching his backside or pulling out a wedgie. I couldn't make this up. I tried to tell myself I was wrong. Don't think I was.
Then my food comes. The ham was questionable and I'm pretty sure it was Spam or it's no name cousin. It was actually chewy like grizzle in spots. I thought onions must have gotten in there or something. Nope. No onions. Grizzle. The waiter never returned to fill my coffee up or clear my dirty plate when I finished.
Also, a female employee was talking loudly with curse words and in a very inappropriate conversation for customers to hear. Talking about an argument with another person, race, transgender bathroom assignment, etc. I pretended to not hear it but they were right next to me. I just continued to eat the grizzle.
Then for some unbeknownst reason when a different waitress came and cleared my plate and offered me coffee, I ordered dessert. So my original waiter returns and puts the cake in front of me wearing blue latex gloves on each hand. Yes, same guy who was digging a wedgie out while taking my order. I mean....wth is going on here. Do I need to check my tetanus shot. I've never seen anything like this.
I paid and left. I won't return. Not even for a laugh. It was bad. Again, I'm easy to please but the hygiene, conversations, and the typos on the menu should all be your big red flags. Learn from my mistake. Do not go there. Felt dirty.
