“The Roller Coaster Capital of the World”
Cedar Point is known for a couple of things. It’s known as the roller coaster capital of the world. But some just refer to Cedar Point as the world’s best amusement park. Cedar Point is an amusement park that brings people together through thrills. With 120-mph roller coasters that have 80-degree drops. An amusement park that, on top of roller coasters, has exhilarating thrill rides. An amusement park that has rides for the entire family and gives you water rides that make you wonder why it’s simply only the roller coaster capital of the world. And, of course, Cedar Point amusement park gives you great dining. What else would you expect from the roller coaster capital of the world? Cedar Point is the place to strengthen family bonds. Cedar Point. Thrills Connect.
This place was amazing! Beautiful views of the lake, a nice cool breeze in August, and it is a very clean park.
Thrill seekers heaven, but if you are looking for more out of amusement park than just high trill rides you will be disappointed. Prices for food are very expensive for the carny type of food. So if you are planning a trip to Cedar Point be ready for high trill rides and nothing else.
Wow, what a unique spot in Sandusky, OH of all places. This is the BEST amusement park in the world for thrill rides. All sorts of different coasters, from the classics (Raptor) to some of the newer rides (every other year they open a new coaster), Cedar Point is must-see for anyone in Ohio
If you are a roller coaster enthusiast, this is a must stop location. The coasters are a lot of fun. However, if coasters are not your thing, you maybe disappointed. Coasters are the main attraction at this park. It was a fun trip, and we would do it again in as heart beat. Note: the seating on a few of the coasters do not that into account that there are well endowed female coaster enthusiasts.
A true destination place for thrill seeking, roller coaster fans. Staying on the property is convenient. While the hotels are a little run down, they are working on making renovations as of last year (2014) at Hotel Breakers.
Cedar Point has the best coasters than anywhere I have ever been, and the most in one place. After all these years, it is the one place my siblings and I make a point to meet up and go together and leave the kids behind...so we can be a kid again for a day.
Be prepared to walk! The park is at the end of a peninsula that juts out into Lake Erie, and while it seems like the Lake breeze would be cooler, it can get pretty darn hot in the afternoon. Like others have said, this is a thrill rider's heaven.
A really great park for thrill seekers! In the summer, be prepared for really long lines. It's fun to visit Halloweekends in October when the whole park is Halloween themed. I get scared easily, so when someone jumped out of a trash can it freaked me out. Really fun, though.
If you truly love roller coasters and thrill rides, Cedar Point is your "Mecca"!! It's a beautiful park with a long and interesting history. The resorts offer both nostalgic as well as modern accommodations, and all the thrills in one location are second to none!!! "Get to the point... Cedar Point !!"
Awesome Amusement Park! We spent one day at Cedar Point in July 2015 and I am currently planning a return trip to include 2 days at Cedar Point this summer 2017.
We honestly had the BEST day!
The rides were so fun for my tweenage boys, the views of the lake on either side of the park were exceptional.
I was amazed by how clean the park was!
We bought a meal plan, and in retrospect, it's the one thing I wouldn't do again. They limit the places you can visit with the meal plan, and dollar for dollar, because they only include the less expensive options on the plan, unless you are going to spend the entire day eating and not riding rides, you're not going to get your money's worth from the plan. Dollar for dollar, it would have been much more affordable for my family of 5 to just pay for our meals as we went and nix the plan.
Get the funnel fries, because YUM.
A highlight of our day was the xtreme wheels show! We never go to shows at amusement parks, but this one was so rad. Our kids (and my husband and I) loved it so much that we went twice!
We went on a summer weekday. As we walked up, I thought, "uh oh!" There were SO MANY PEOPLE entering the park! But it's so big that once we were inside, everyone spread out and the crowds tray weren't bad, AT ALL. It was so mellow and wonderful! Lines at some of the more popular coasters were still 45 min long. But we bought the fast lane plus wrist band and it was worth every one of the gazillion cents they charged us for it. (Granted, we made our kids pay half of the ticket upgrade price from their own money, because they were the ones who were so adamant about the fast passes, but I'm so glad they pushed! Those fast passes really made the day! We only had one day at the park, so paying a little—or a lot, ugh—extra to ensure that we got to squeeze everything in made sense.)
When we left the kids all said it was better than Disneyland and that it was one of their "favorite days ever!" (Though for little ones, mom still thinks Disney would come out on top.
We have all boys, ages 10, 21, and 13.
