Camp America sits 1-1/2 miles north of Interstate 90 (Exit 364) on US Highway 81 just south of Salem, SD. We cater to visitors who are travelling to and from our state's many great locations. With no railroads or airports for miles, you will enjoy your stay in our rural setting. We boast clean facilities, quiet and shady sites, and reasonable rates. Our location is central to the Corn Palace in Mitchell, Falls Park in Sioux Falls, and Laura Ingalls Wilder's home in DeSmet.
Nice, peaceful!
Very nice campground! Clean and well kept. The sites are large with grass between spaces and plenty of room. The owners are so accommodating and you even get ice cream at check in! Discounts for First Responders, Veterans and Military!
This place is quite and so peaceful. The pull through spots are extremely spacious and well maintained. Huge grass area with fire pit and picnic table. Lots of trees nicely spaced out. This is not the pack’em in type of place and I can appreciate that so much. If ever I come through here again I will definitely stay here. Super friendly staff! Highly recommend!

Lovely, peaceful, well maintained and managed RV park. Level, roomy spots with picnic table and fire pit. The owners are so nice - wish we could stay longer! Next time...
Clean. Quiet mostly. The road is close to the tent area and semis frequent. Great amenities.
