Great place to stop for any horror movie or even sci fi fans. My favorite thing where is the life mask of Alfred Hitchcock. The sad thing is, you can't take any photos. I really would have loved to share some photos to get people excited about it, but they'd rather keep things in secrecy I guess. There are life-size dummies of monsters and iconic movie figures, plaques that explain the characters role and what the movie was called, masks in life massive leading actors faces. Each display is set up like a scene from the movie which is neat. It set up and I storefront so it's not very large. It took us about a half an hour to walk through and read everything. Wish it'd been longer. But not an entire waste of 8 bucks.
This place is fantastic. If you're a lover of horror movies, get ready to spend some money to make your day brighter. The museum has tons of full scale replica movie monsters on display with a great deal of supplementary information. Definitely stop on by if you have any interest in horror/monster movies and their history.
It's not your everyday tourist attraction but it is well worth it. The staff is friendly and helpful and the displays are amazing!
Loved it! My kids were in tears because they were so scared and after we were done asked to go through it again.
Really cool! I would suggest this to any horror movie fan!
They have moved to Essex street, but are months behind in opening. Next to the witch history museum when they finally open.
This place is insanely cool. The only bummer is that they don't allow any photos. For a special effects nerd, that was painful. The maquette/bust of pinhead is kinda hard to find, so make sure you look inside the puzzle box.
Such an incredible display of all my childhood nightmares! I LOVE this place! It's put together so well. It's not meant to scare you but it definitely brought back some of the fear I had as a younger version of myself. We got to meet the owner, James, and he was super nice and helpful in telling us some other great things to do while in Salem. This place will be a staple for Salem for many years to come!
My favorite place in all of Salem! This place is like Disneyland for horror lovers! 🎃👻
After the Witches Museum we were
Pretty excited to go to this place after reading the reviews. It takes about 15 minutes to go through and was slightly misleading. I thought it would be props and masks from all the horror movies, it was really just life-size recreations. I mean, it was cool, but probably wayyy cooler if you're a big horror-movie buff
