Salem has over 238 acres of park land. Beautiful Bryan Memorial Park, Salem's largest park, is home to two ball fields, picnic areas, 8 shelters, an outdoor stage, a playground, four lighted tennis courts, basketball courts, a skate park, and Salem Family Aquatic Facility. Annual events held in Bryan Memorial Park include Family Fun Day held in June, Bluegrass BBQ Festival held the Thursday, Friday, Saturday after Labor Day, and the Apple Festival held mid September. A short distance from Bryan Memorial Park is the Bryan Park Nature Trail, located just north of the Public Hospital of Salem. The trail is a one and three-quarter mile interpretive trail.
