Nestled in the woods there is lots of shade. Our spot 4 was the beacon for wifi so it worked pretty good. Decent 4G too. Lots of little hiking paths and a huge field for the dogs to run. Great little play ground with a small water slide. Don't over look this spot. It's worth the visit when Hunting Island is full.

Just a lovely setting with easy access to Beaufort, and all the sea islands. Check out both Ft. Fremont and Penn Center. The history of the area is incredible. You really feel like you are camping in such a special spot.
We had to do some digging to get a level site. Someone was playing music loudly one night. Staff seemed pretty hands off - not necessarily a good thing but the check in was easy and welcoming.

We stayed here 1 night as a stop over to explore Beaufort on our way from Savannah to Charleston. Super friendly manager (Adam) was very hospitable. We usually will opt for a state or county park over an RV park but this one feels as though you are in a state/county park. Huge area to run our dogs (no signs about needing to be leashes so we went for the ball throwing in the field!!). Showers/toilets were super clean. Laundry room looked great (we didn’t do any; $1.50 for washer, $1 for dryer). Nice walking path surrounding property to walk. Huge area for cleaning shrimp if needed (over by the dumpster!!). Looked like some full timers/snowbirds in the ‘park’; plenty of space for big rigs. We didn’t have a fire pit but some of the full timers did?? The park is a little off the beaten path (about 2 miles off the main road) but worth it. We didn’t find to much to do in Beaufort but did drive down to Hunting Island to check it out. If you make it to the area, be sure to check out Sgt White’s Diner... only open Mon-Fri 11-3pm.

We stayed here as an alternative to Hunting Island State Park. Full hook ups for less money. While it rained almost the entire time we were there, the water rain off quickly. Check in is in a reception area that is built off an old motor home that has been converted into the office. They will escort you to your site and help as needed pulling in. Most lots for larger rigs are pull through. We worried about the tree lined road pulling out and everything was ok. This campground is in the middle of it all for St Helena Island. Just down the street from Penn Center and the Chapel off Ease ruins. You can go into Beaufort and be right in the downtown area. It is also convenient to Hunting Island State Park. We visited the State Park while there and they are still recovering from the hurricane. If you go be careful, we hit a pot hole in the State Park that did some damage to our front end!

Far our Frizzle stayed here for seven nights. This campground is very pet friendly - so much so that my campsite had a good bit of dog waste! I really had to watch where I was walking. There is a dog run area with bags available but I’m not sure how much it was used.
I also had some noisy neighbors but this is not the fault of the campground. Sites are pretty close so I could hear all of the stimulating conversation. Most residents were quiet and kept to themselves. There is one huge bathhouse that was clean and laundry facilities which I appreciated.
The grounds are kept up nicely. There is a fountain on the drive in and I noticed the owner trimming her rose bushes at one point. There is a playground for kids, an alligator pond (did not see alligator - 1 star!! Just kidding) a place to clean shrimp, ice machine, etc. Cell service was great for working and streaming.
The woods were lovely with pines and palms interspersed. There is a military base in Beaufort so there were some planes flying low but this was not bothersome.
Beaufort is a beautiful antebellum town and absolutely worth a visit. Hunting Island State Park and the Penn Center were the highlights of my stay.

This is a nice campground nestled in the woods along the low country in South Carolina. There are a long of little trails. Bathrooms are heated and clean. There are a some full timers here. I had a tent site since I didn’t need to plug in for anything. Host was very nice.

Stayed here for one night as we visited Beaufort. Tent site was level, had water and power. No fire ring, but you are able to burn a fire at your site.
Bathrooms and showers were clean, good hot water and strong water pressure. Checkin was easy.
Only about about a 10-15 minute drive to downtown Beaufort. I would stay there again for sure!

We spent one night at Tuck in the Wood in mid-November. The campground was probably half full. We had full hookups. We had privacy because the sites on either side of us were empty, but had they been rented the neighbors would have been very close. The bathrooms and showers were dated, but very clean and well-stocked. Some campers appear to live full time here. It was very quiet, and grounds are well/maintained. The sites are packed sand, and we used a mat to prevent our chocks from sinking in. Sites were mostly level with only small adjustments needed. We had good cell service with T-mobile. Convenient location for visiting Beaufort.

Just like being in a state park. Sites under heavy tree cover are well separated and offer real camping not often found in a commercial park. Some full timers, but lots of vacant sites. Restrooms are old but clean. WIFI was not reliable, but good when it was available. Great playground. Good location for visiting Beaufort and USMC Museum.
