“beautifully restored trains”
Climb aboard our larger-than-life steam train and enjoy a 45-minute, round-trip ride through the tranquil Amish countryside to Paradise, PA and back. Marvel at more than 1,000 acres of farm fields as they pass by your window. Disembark and enjoy old-fashioned fun at Groff’s Grove or Leaman Place Grove, convenient recreation areas along the train’s route for mid-way boarding or unloading. Ride aboard our First-Class Cars for an especially memorable experience.Strolling through the historic East Strasburg Station and the neighboring town of Strasburg, exploring the engines and rail cars up-close and riding beautifully restored trains are so much fun that you'll almost forget that you're immersed in a richly educational experience — learning about steam railroading, agriculture, Amish culture and PA Dutch heritage. Enjoy all we have to offer. And, the memories you'll take with you.
Super friendly staff. We arrived early and stood and chatted with the conductor for several minutes. The train cars are beautifully maintained and a fantastic fun little trip for kids of al ages:)
Great place to take a train ride
We love this place every time we visit! So much history--it really is amazing to see the progress of railroads. If you go later in the day it is a few dollars off--we went in for about 45 minutes--it was enough to see and explore the main floor trains.
If you're a train enthusiast it's a great place! Very clean but couldn't walk into many trains, just round the outside.
This was a great experience! We rode in the dining car which was quite expensive for the lunch offered, but a definite experience everyone should try.
This is a great tourist railroad to visit. I highly recommend the open air car when the weather is nice. What is not listed in here is the PA Railroad museum right across the street, which is one of the best in the country and has a huge collection.
do you love thomas the train? this is for you.
