“When in Rome ...”
Welcome to Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum, one of the Georgia's most prized attractions. Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum opened in 1972 as a historic house and history museum. Our mission is to tell the story of Martha Berry and Berry College through exhibits, events, and educational programming. Tours begin at the Martha Berry Museum where guests can tour the permanent exhibit that traces the evolution of the Berry Schools into Berry College. The Martha Berry Museum also includes an art gallery and temporary exhibits. Oak Hill is the Greek revival home of Martha Berry, founder of Berry College. Visitors receive a guided tour of the dwelling led by Berry College students. Guests may also tour the home's three outbuildings, as well asOak Hill's gardens. The facilities and grounds are open to the public from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, excluding holiday weekends. Checkoakhillmuseum.com and the campus calendar for exact dates of closure. Fun Fact: This house was featured in the film "Sweet Home Alabama!"
Marthe Berry Museum is a beautiful and interesting museum. Martha Berry's home and garden are so beautiful with trees and flowers bloom. At the tour, I've learned a lot about the local history, Martha Berry's story and her home. The tour guides were nice and gave so much information.
